Hey all. Can someone post a picture of what they're transmission dip stick should look like. I think that I am missing mine. I must have recieved it with no dipstick, so I cannot check my transmission fluid. If I am infact missing mine, I'll need to go somewhere to get one, and this is probably what is causing my transmission to disfunction. I don't think I have any fluid. Thanks for whoever posts the pic.

Sorry I have no pic, I have a 5 speed:D
From what I remember it is about a foot to the left of the engine oil dipstick. A junkyard or dealership should be able to hook you up with a new stick.

It's on the tranny, I don't have a pic of it, but it doesn't look like a regular dipstick. It unscrews from the tranny.

Yeah. Im pretty sure I have the location right. However, there is nothing to screw. There's just a 1/4" diameter hole right under my air box pipe...hmm. I'm thinking the mechanics who last serviced this car before I owned it forgot the dipstick. Damn idiots. I'll take a pic sooner or later to show you guys what I mean.

you still need a picture of the dipstick or have we gotten past that? If you need a pic here it is

Tranny Breakdown (http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/auto/jsp/mws/prddisplay.jsp?inputstate=5&catcgry1=Accord&catcgry2=1988&catcgry3=4DR+DX&catcgry4=KA4AT&catcgry5=AT++++++CONTROL+LEVER)

Its #5 in the pic, like 11 bucks from Majestic Honda

I'd say just run down to a salvage yard and ummm pick one up:D

Thanks for the pic Vinny. Yeah, in that picture I don't have #17 or #5.

Sounds good to me man. Will a 5-speed dipstick differ from an A/T dipstick?

5 speeds don't have a dipstick!

just unscrew it. You won't hurt anything.

Whats in the way? I wouldnt remove coolant hoses and A/C lines. Thats all I can think of that might be in the way. Use vise-grips if its hard to unscrew.

scratch that, i found out. But i was trying to unscrew the dipstick and everytime i would stick my hand down there, some wires and sh!t would get pushed aside and something would spark. I too skerd that i'll mess something up. I might try to reach down in there w/ some tools...
