ehhhhhh, Its not all that kool, Its just a powerfull Elctrical motor, with alot of battries. I wonder how it drives. every thing else must be pritty primitive. I wonder if they can attach a crank pully and Custom fab all the Accesories onto it. though its Efficentcy would go down, hell only 5 hours on a Charge? I wonder how much it cost to Recharge it, and how long does it take?

If I where in college with a CNC machine, I would be making all types of crap!

man, old post, but its cool to see that our great lil 3g has even more potential than I thought. Cool that he used a hatch too...

I thought it was interesting that it said it had a stock 5-speed tranny. Why? and furthermore how? It doesn't matter, I think you'd have a hard time stalling an electric motor, then again I suppose it would 'stall' at every intersection, because it doesn't idle. But if it doesn't idle, then why botherwith a standard? Whatever. Somebody should build an electric drag car, so you can sit at an intersection and rev the thing...zzzz......zzzzzzzzzzZZZZzzzzzzz.....zzzZZZ ZZZZZzzzz...screeeech!

Its actually quite a good idea. Electric, hydrogen and hybrid powered vehicles will eventually take over. The technology is being further developed as the world's oil supply runs ever lower. I love my gasoline burning engine but its not ment to last. And what better vehicle to put it in than a 3g? :D

Here is a prime example of how much the technology has evolved in a relatively short period of time.

13.xx 1/4 mile time
0-60 in roughly 4 seconds.

these electric cars beleive it or not can get 100+ mph, at the tech school i went to we had 2 of them, a 89 VW Jetta and an 86 Stang, these things were bad ass, alot of schools and colleges build them and then race each other. I had the privalage to race on of them here in richmond on our track and its great, very very quiet though. and dont expect burnouts lol.

So are they like 0-100 in how long? I drive battery-operated equipment everyday so I know what you’re talking about how they are quite. Fastest equipment we have goes about 15-20 mph. The battery lasts about a week without a charge depending on the use of course.

it actually dont take too long, no more than a reg auto trans car, one of our instructors drove the jetta as a daily driver. (The jetta in which i sprayed the color on)

Here are some pics of the Jetta i was able to dig up
