View Full Version : The start of replacing my tranny

Well I bought a new motor/tranny for my car, but I think I'm only going to put the tranny in since the motor is an 86 (10 less hp) and that hp is a bitch to try and make up again. Got started late today so there's not much work due to being very cold and getting dark fast
also replacing the tranny in my cousin's camry at the same time

got everything disconnected except for a couple header bolts that I stripped *doh*

What motor is it that you don't want to put in? Carb/FI?

I'm interested in buying it.

yeah, it's the one right in front of my car, 86 LXi motor (fuel injected), rebuilt with only 60k on it, I'm gonna post it in the classifieds forum soon, you have first dibs on it.

Nah I'm out, I don't want to do a FI conversion.

Good luck with the tranny replacement.

once again started on it late, only had a few hours until daylight kicked our asses, but the motor is out, tomorrow hopefully I'll replace the tranny and clutch and get it back in

It's in now, I just need to hook everything back up and find a radiator. :(

haha, yeah, not sure whose that was but it was there for a long time. Seems like each time we worked on my car we each had one of those, so who knows, could have been a different one each time lol

I finally got my fucking radiator, well I bought it anyway. I bought it tuesday night, should be here anyday. Hopefully I'll be driving my accord by next week. :D
