I just recently bought an 88 LXi that sat up for two years. I changed the spark plugs, wires, and replaced the battery. I then started it up. Of course a lot of smoke came out and it wouldn't stay cranked. I kept running it until it began to try and idle. A few questions:
White smoke came out, is this normal for a car to do this after sitting so long?
It ran kind of rough, like the engine moving back and forth quickly. Could this be the result of old gas?
Is there anything else I need to do to try and get this on the road engine wise?
Will doing a compression check give me some vital information?
Thanks!
