Since accord rear shocks are a little over 25" high fully extended with about 8" of travel I doubt we'll be able to use the 22.5" CRX part. I haven't measured the front yet--hopefully it's closer.

well Mike, from what your saying.. the CRX rears are shorter? if so. it would work with some coilovers just perfectly right? since we would drop the car 2.50 or so..

I know we wouldn't beable to use CRX struts as stock replacements OR with some slightly lower springs. Is that correct?

Since the spring perch's dimension's aren't listed I'm not sure if lowering springs would be usable. Coilovers would probably work. They would have enough adjustability to compensate for the differences. The car would still need to be lowered about 2.5" rear though, like you mentioned.

How does the CRX damper fork compare the to the accord's? Do you think that if the lengths are close enough the the damper body would fit correctly in an accord damper fork?

I made measurements of CRX Damper Fork along with a picture.

I need to get it up on here. Gimme till the end of the day to get it.

So what is the 3g's front struts total length and rod travel range.

I had all the 3g strut dementions written down when I did the 3g to 92-94 civic strut comparo, lost my notes.

I thought about using a different damper fork to lower the front a little bit..

I'll check with Civic applications.

The accord front strut is 12.5" (bottom of body to top of shaft)fully compressed with 4.25" travel.

What I got here for measurements off the Front CRX stock struts are...


6 1/2" Rod Length
11 1/2" Strut Body length

5" upper strut fork hole Diameter

8 1/2" Strut fork length

3 3/8ths bottome Fork width (part that slides over the lower arm)

4 9/16ths Middle fork width.

could you clarify the body length and rod length as seperate?

10.2" for the body, 2.4" for the shaft fully compressed
