AS I'VE MENTIONED I DECIDED TO DO THE BODYWORK ON MY CAR MYSELF TO SAVE SOME MONEY AND ADD CHROME FLAKES TO MY PAINT...SO AS ALSO PROMISED A FEW PICS OF MY PROGRESS ON MY BODYKIT PROJECT:

THIS IS THE REAR FOR NOW:
I molded the lower half of the 90-93 accord kit with the top half of the stock rear. Refiberglassed 4 more layers inside and made custom brackets.

Looks good. I had always wanted to put dual mufflers in the back. I went to go do it one day and he said he couldn't do it. Left side of my undercarriage was steel, which is the same on all of our cars. But I know it can be done.

Looks good. Along with Mike, I have always wanted to do dual exhaust but I ran into the same problem. Keep us posted.

ICEMAN707

yep it can be done, so long as you do the y-split right after the cat and have the two 1.5" pipes run through the stock routing to the mufflers since you can't run the pipes very close to the gas tank (in case there is a gas leak and gas touches the hot exhaust pipe, then...KABOOM!).

that bumper looks goooooood. Are those JDM tails i see?

although there is absolutely no reason whatsover to put dual exhaust/mufflers on a 4 banger, some people like it.....it is kinda :rice: though IMO.

I like it, and the dual can be done, Darkhonda89(i think, yellow-green and black car.) has a dual exhaust.

the taillights are painted black around the rim and clearcoated. i plan to bash out those taillights and insert LED circle lights from those Semi trucks and custom mold it. it should look like a skyline GTR's when i'm done.

for the kit, i plan on doing the side skirts next after i get the mufflers on. i can't get the car lifted if the skirts are on. i plan on having the side skirts in a way that i can remove them easily in case in the future i have to do some repairs.

here is a "ghetto-chop" pic of how the car should look when i'm done:

IMO, that looks sweet. I'm not a big fan of dual exhaust on 4 cylinders either but that rear valance would look dumb with a single exhaust and dual cutouts. I think you're doing an awesome job with it. Definitely take pics when you're done. If you make quality kits, you should think about making them and selling them to us board members.

i think it will look cool with the dual tipped dual exhaust. There was a kid around my hometown that had two mufflers for the dual look, but only one had piping to it. You will have to let me know how those mufflers sound, since i am looking into getting a different, more quiet one but while still keeping the deep sound.

What kind of rims are those? they are tite

ICEMAN707

gruvmstr206-

The rims are 18x8 ADR Lightnings. Tires are 215/35/18 BFGoodrich Scorcher T/A's (blue). Springs are 2.25" Sprint lowering springs, Shocks are Koni adjustable reds.

elijah-

Yes I am molding the front as well. Even though the 90-93 teg front kit is a very close fit, I still want it to be perfect. I have to get a good 88-89 3gee bumper so I can have the clear front signals with hyperwhite bulbs. But instead of having them as signals, I'm going to switch wires with my parking lights and have them as parking lights or fog/driving lights when the switch is on. That way I have some street lights at dusk without having to flip my headlights.

stevedx9-

Yeah I'm planning on having this car my weekend show car once I get my daily driver purchased for the summer. I am hoping to do window tinting, custom body work, car audio and alarms freelance for people. Start little by little, hopefully start my own shop.

I don't know what brand they are. They are DTM style. I got them off eBay early in the summer for $50 each.

Are you doing all of the prep and paint work at home (in a garage or driveway)? Can or Airbrush?

Looks real good man!

I do all the prep work since it's only primer...it can be sanded. The paint I'm having it done at a local shop that specializes in show cars. It's going to be 2003 Lexus pearl white with some added chrome flakes. $3500 job for only $1200 since I'm doing the prep and bodywork. All they have to do is spray.

Instead of goin' truckin with the tails' use newer Impala Tails and mold from there...

ICEMAN707

no those are huge and ugly on a mid-size 3gee...not to mention i have to do some serious modification to the trunk just to get those to fit. i am keeping the stock taillights, just inserting the round LED's in them and filling/molding the gaps around it so it looks factory.

yesterday i saw a car that had tails that would look SICK on a 3g IMO. It was a late model (not brand new) infinity. It looked like the Infinity version of the maxima. i'll see if i can get pics.

i cut to both bumpers in half and molded the stock top with the bodykit bottom with some screws, plastic bondo, epoxy glue, and lots of fiberglassing and grinding/sanding.

nothing wrong with putting dual exhaust on a 4 cylinder. the s2000, the late model mr2 or the new mr-s roadster, and some other cars have it. hell, even a motorcycle has it. the sound of two mufflers resonating together will make you change your mind. it's all about the piping. naturally, a smaller engine can't have a large piping or there will be too much backpressure. nothing is rice if you know what you are doing. it's kids who don't know what they are doing that makes it look bad for the rest of us. aluminum wings can look good if done right and on the right car with the right bodykit aerodynamics to match. stickers can look good if you actually have that stuff in your car. anyways, point is...just cus it's being done, doesn't automatically make it rice.

WOW!.... I have been waiting to see these pics... and I want more. The kit looks surprisingly good, I was sceptical at first, but now I'm very interested to see more. And I think that dual exhaust is fine if done right, and especially with that back bumper, it is a must have.

That is some quality on that body work. Why run dual pipe from the cat back, just takes up more space and more weigth. It would be better and cheaper to run 2.25 back to the gas tank then split it with the Y to each side with 2" or 1.75" piping. Otherwise the car looks great. Can't wait to see it all finished. :)

im running dual pipe right after the cat to get an even exhaust flow to both mufflers. if i do it right after the gas tank, the passenger side will get more flow since it's shorter. it would look obvious in the winter time when you can see the exhaust steam.

right now i'm doing the front bodykit. but i still have to find a good 88-89 bumper from the junk yard to mold the kit to. also i need some new dremel bits and cutoff wheels. they get dull pretty quick and the cutoff wheels break apart easily. i guess that's how dremel makes their money. sorta like an inkjet printer with inks. very frustrating. i'm looking to find some diamond carbide cutting wheels. anyways, i'm doing that tomorrow and hopefully get pics up for you guys. thanks for all your positive comments.

i'm doing the side skirts last because i still haven't got the exhaust made cus i'm waiting for my CARSOUND freeflow cat to come in. i need to be able to have the car lifted. well, take care guys!
