question about gas

can you test gas to see if its old or bad?? and if its bad can you do anything to make a useable again?

The way you generally tell if it is bad is trying to start the car. If it is barely running or doesnt at all and you know it couldnt be anything else causing the prob then it is the gas, other wise it is probably something else. I have seen a car start after it sat for five years with nothing more then a jump start, sure it ran real rough, but it still ran. (and this was a 77 malibu on 7 cylinders and a stock, horribly beat carb)
If it is real old you cant do anything except maybe mix it with new and feed it to a lawnmower. If it is bad b/c some moisture is in it try some dry gas additive. If it sat for real long just siphon it out.
