Looking for some honest input.

the inspection is up jan1 is it worth keeping? i am on low income budget and winter is approaching fast i need to make a move.....

any ides whether to keep or look into something else?

I would say to get rid of it. In your current position, keeping it would use up much needed funds.

I'd say part it out and buy another 3rd gen. You can find good working ones for relatively cheap.

On that end of the coast your selection of not rusted 3g's must be slim
Try to pick up a 5speed car
Rusted and bad tranny..........I wouldn't keep it

I would think you could get around $300. Sell for sure, an auto tranny is quite pricey. Just find yourself a buick century 4 cylinder for like 500 bucks with real low miles. Those things run forever, look like crap, but they are so cheap and so reliable. A great winter car until you get enough money to part with it.

i just found/bought a 87lx for 100$cdn. its not perfect either though.

it has a bad cv joint (front right) and the usual rust problems(wheel wells and underneath) and no inspection sticker.

it does have 200,000 less kms than my other 88lx and a good tranny and windsheild. (and horn)

what should i try to fix? and can i swap cv joint(axles) from cars?
