I got a 92 teg Intake and cut it down to fit my 3G. I got it all mounted up and fits perfect. BUT, it whistles, very loud, it only does it at certain throttle positions. I think it's the cheap assed filter making the noise, just wanted to ask around to see if anyone else had this happen to them.

small vacuum leaks can cause whistling, it's probably happening at the part you cut

I agree with POS. You probably have a rough edge somewhere. I would file down all the edges and clean it. Then get a K&N. They can last damn near forever if you keep them clean and oiled with the cleaning kit.

Well they will have that whistle sound no madder what but yiur sounds like it is louder then it should be. Maybe it is a rough edge or something.

yah mine whistles like crazy too when i give it a little bit of a push. It's annoying but i tell everyone my car has asthma. I think mine is because of hte small hole in my filter curtosy of my brake distribution thingy (i can't spell the p word perportioning valve [sp??]). But i'm getting a 89 lude si this thur so i'm gonna worry about that soon enough.

My cheap integra intake whistles too. Just a little bit every once in a while, I fixed it the old fashon way, turn up the radio.

mine doesn't whistle at high rpms. It seems that if i dog the engine any bit that mine whistles. THat's strange that yours does it when you are at a high tach range.

i have a K&N filter. mine dosent whisle. i think the ones that do are the ones that have the intake ability in the center. like my K&N filter it only on the sides and its blocked off in the front. id try to show piks of the difference but dont know how to.

are you sure the whistle sound you guys hear isn't the sound of it sucking air. Mine has a strong sucking sound even at idle, you can hear it really well for about a second right when you shut the car off.

Mine does. Back your idle screw off a bit then see if it does it.

I know that it is the normal air being sucked but it is fun playing around with them and see if they can figure it out. I get tired of answer the same question over and over again, then I got tired of giving people crap for asking a question that has been answered 1 billion times, so now I sit make and watch and have a little fun! :D

guys i think its TB noise, if you take off the hose and filter and ran the TB with nothing on it youd hear it even louder... try it
