I am talking to the dude that auctioned these things (the auction closed without a bid) and he is going to sell them to me for approx $150, shipped!

I'm guessing another $150-200 to get them wrapped. I want fairly thin tires for purposes of ride height and looks. What tires do you suggest? They are stock 91 Escort GT 15's.

I'm probably going to try sanding the centercaps which say "Ford", and then repainting the whole shit white. It's hard to tell in the pic but they are kind of off-white colored.

Ford escort wheels? Are you sure they are going to line up bolt pattern wise? Ive never heard of a ford bolt pattern being the same as a honda one, but it could be!

But.......ford escort wheels? Maybe if they were something rare and no one knew what they came off of then yea...but as soon as I saw them, I knew what they were...

Ford on a honda? Uhm.....I dont get it....I think its asking to get laughed at.

If they arent 4 x 100 pattern, they wont fit.....so check that before you buy your Ford Escort Wheels

Nate.

they won't fit...unless ford changed something ni the escort...
they should be like 4X114.5 or somethign really strange...
where you'll need 4X100 bolt pattern...
go any lower then 50 series adn you'll regret it...your car will loose way much in teh top end...

The escort those rims came off of should be 4x100mm. That generation of car was co-developed with mazda and the GT even has a mazda 1.8L engine. The thing to do is find out what year the car is and simply do a check at www.tires.com by looking for rims for that year of escort. I looked at the ZX2 escort and they are 4x100mm, but a few of the rims that popped up were 35mm offset, but most were 40mm. If those rims are 40mm offset you can get 195/55-15 or 205/50-15. If they are less than 40mm offset you'll have no choice but to run 195/50's.

yeah i have a friend with a 91 escort, and his rims were 4 X 100 13s. he actually replaced his steels with some 14" honda rims (dont remeber what year or model), that were 4 X 100, and they fit perfect. he also painted them white w/ engine enamel, looks pretty badass too.

To beat a dead horse, they will work on a 3geez. 4X100 bolt pattern on the Escort GT. :p

Side note, the 1.8 liter in the Escort GT is the Miata's 1.8...138 hp. Those Escorts move out for a little car.

yeah but the normal 91 escorts (non GT) have a whopping 88 hp.

195/50/15 isn't the smallest. Yokohama makes a 195/45/15. The 50 will be the best for the car though.

They are definitely 4x100's, not sure about the offset. The offset will only affect the tires I should get and not whether they fit as long as the bolt pattern's the same, right?

Looked up on OEM replacement wheels site, the offset is 45mm. What are tire options? I want some l33t brand like Pirelli or Yokohama or something but nothing too expensive. (Yokohama has $63 TR tires on TireRack, for example... Not the right size though.)

I'm going to have to do a permenant post on correct plus size tires.

185/60-15 IN NOT A CORRECT PLUS SIZE. Oem tires are 23.2" tall
185/60-15 is 23.7" tall, they're taller. The correct plus size 15" tire size is either 195/55-15 (at 23.4"tall for a 1% difference) or
205/50-15(23.1" tall for a -.6% difference).

I got that size from a couple of different tire sites for the specific car these rims originally came off of. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying the numbers I found seem to be a consensus.
