I got a problem kinda. My car starts perfect but is cold for like 10 minutes. so i turn it on before i leave to skool. it isnt that cold cause i live in arizona but it tends to for from 1,000 to 2,000 rpms and goes up and down and people think im reving at them cause its loud from ehxaust/intake. does everyones accord do this. or do i need something new. i just took my accord to the shop and spent $1,100. may be that the mechanic screwed with something, i dunno. need answers - thanks alot

how cold can it be on an AZ morning. 45 degrees? lol j/k. your car will rev high just to keep the RPMs up until the egine warms up. you should be able to kick it down manually by hitting the gas a little after you start it. If it takes 10 minutes to warm up, it sounds like your thermostat might not be working. Its a cheap $5 fix.

what all did you have done for 1100 bucks?

My Prelude used to rev a little between 1000-2000 rpm when idling before I bled the cooling system. The air bubbles screw with the fast idle valve.

If your upper radiator hose is warm before your car is all the way warmed up your thermostat doesn't close all the way and should be replaced.

My car goes all the way up to 2800 sometimes...I know that it should only be 1800, so what might that be? I probably just need to tune the carb a bit.

mine is the same way, i just rev it high for a few seconds and hold it at like 3K for afew more, then let it fall
then i shift to drive and go before it dies... i would baby it more if i had time in the morning...

When mine is cold it is like a rollercoaster ride. It travels between 700-1500. It is like it just sits there and jumps back and forth. It is very annoying and kind of embarrassing

i got the same problem here in miami whwere it is barely even chilly. My car has no termostat though, it revs between 1500 to 2300 ( up and down) when i start it in the morning for about 10-15 minutes. It is annoying but I have no complaints because on the hottest days my cars temperature gauge does not even reach halfway, as a matter of facts I've never seen my temperature gauge at half, beeter cold than hot (I think).:smokin:
