This has gotten progressively worse since I baught it. Earlier I was driving with the backseat down and it was driving me insane.

The rear bars for the counterweight of the trunk are rattling pretty bad. Is there a way to adjust them? I don't want to remove them because I like them.

are you sure its not something loose in your head and you're confusing it with something in your car? :flipa:

Yea, I was waiting for some jokes. It is the car. The rattle is only between 1,500 and 3,000 rpms. I am probably going nuts but if I don't get this one fixed it will help push me over the edge a little bit sooner than I hoped.

JB Weld is the shit. I have a couple of tubes on the edge of my desk right now. But how would it work in this situation?

got a sledge hammer, some vice grips and an arc welder? i don't know how it would help but it'd be fun!

I fixed it.
Tonite I was coming out of the grocery store and decided to fold down the backseat and climb in to have a look. What was ratteling is called torsion bars. There are two of them. They need to rotate so welding them is not an option. There was a "J shaped" tab coming from the bottom of the rear dash that the bars were rattling against. So I just bent it out of the way and solved the problem in 5 seconds. Here is what the manual shows, it does not show the tab but I circled where it is.
