I have two Accords, one is a 87 3dr and the other is a 882dr. The 3dr has run a best ET of 13.8@103 on a 80 SHOT. The 2dr went 13.5 @105 on a 100 SHOT. Both have the SOHC A20a3 in them with stock bottom ends. Engine mods included a ported head,Web reground cam, Custom 4-fogger NOS kit, NX electronic full throttle switch, Shortened Civic intake, LS Integra intake manifold, Paxton fuel press.reg, DC Sports header, Pacesetter exhast w/ flowmaster muffler, Crane Ignition, NGK BCPR7ES spark Plugs, NGK plug wires, Ground Control coil overs, Tokico struts, 88 Prelude upper control arms, 90 Integra radius rod bushings, Autometer shift light, and a Honda Passport fuel pump-3dr/ Walboro fuel pump-2dr . I have taken the engine out of the 2dr, was planning on putting in a USDM B20, but now I may use the JDM B20 due to fact that it is a direct bolt in.

Attatched are some pictures of my cars.

If anyone thinks I'm lying check the pictures the don't lie. Also if anyone can help me with my next step, I'm planning om putting in a JDM B20 but I need to know what head gasket do I use, and also what trans wil work. I have all of the other info. I need. B4 I buy the engine I want to know about the head gasket and tran cause I will boosting this one. I will no doubt be replacing the pistons and maybe breaking a trans. so if replacement parts are not avail then I won't do it. Thanks guys

The clutch I'm using is a Clutchmasters Stage 4 press. plate w/ a ClutchNet sprung 6 puck disk. I broke Clutchmasters Disc, and the Ceterforce dual friction only lasted 3 passes.

I bet will all that + lexan windows + completly stripped + C/F Hood + Full roll cage + thin rear wheels + actual drag rims + cut out extra sheetmetal and run custom sheetmetal to save even more weight

All that and it could break into the low 9s

did u notice a performance increase by going to the Integra LS mani? Also i hear b16a intakes flow better than teg ls intake manifolds... anybody know?

K-MOD
11-30-2003, 01:33 PM
I have made probably like 50 or so passes on the track, but I am constantly jucin it on the street. As far as the interior goes that car still weighs 2475 lbs. All I took out was the ps seat, radio , and the rear seat cushions. I am using 87 accord pistons b/c thier compresion is 8.8 instead of 9.3 for the 89's, that helps the bottom end hold up. I have blown the motor a few times while tuning. Too little fuel or too much timing. The LS Integra manifold flows much better and the throttle body is 5mm bigger too. I felt a definite difference after I switch. I have not run it at the track with that manifold yet. Hope to go like 13.5-6. B16 manifolds flow better but are harder to modify to fit the A20. If anyone needs a modified Skunk2 manifold I'm selling them for $275. I polish the inlet and outlets for better flow, and modify the bolt pattern to fit the A20 head. You will need a new Throttle body, the A20 one wont work. I sell 68mm STR for $295. You will also need a throttle cable bracket($15) My shop is in N.plainfield NJ.

Hmmm....not that far:

1: Start out going North on N 3RD ST toward SPRING GARDEN ST. 0.13 miles

2: Turn RIGHT onto PA-248/ BUSHKILL ST. 0.11 miles

3: Merge onto US-22 E via the ramp- on the left (Portions toll). 4.61 miles

4: Merge onto I-78 E toward NEW YORK. 37.18 miles

5: Take the CR-531 S exit- exit number 40- toward WATCHUNG/ THE PLAINFIELDS. 0.25 miles

6: Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto HILLCREST RD/ CR-531. Continue to follow CR-531. 0.88 miles

7: Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto VALLEY RD. 0.03 miles

8: Enter next roundabout and take 3rd exit onto MOUNTAIN BLVD. 0.19 miles

9: MOUNTAIN BLVD becomes SOMERSET ST. 0.98 miles

10: Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto US-22. 1.72 miles

11: Turn SLIGHT RIGHT. 0.06 miles

12: Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto ROCK AVE. 0.11 miles

Mapquest says 50min, I figure I can probably be there in 35-40min. What are the shop hours and are your accords usually there?

Hehehe, you are a crazy mechanic dude. so u are in a different category from other regular 3geerz. Remember, you are a turbo God and u cant complain about stuff thats in the car, or not in the car.

Also, I heard that the Progress Progressive springs have good spring rates. Atleast 4 months back it was. After a long talk with Jim for months and months I found out it was the best for the price. So you have any info on their strenght? I am running Progress Springs with Koni's and they seem to take curves like mad crazy. so i guess its firm???

12-02-2003, 03:27 PM
aerospeeds are pretty stiff and might help you a little more with keeping up traction in the front. Seems to me the best setup would be stiff spring rates in the back and softer in the front. Plus, they're CHEAP.

Wow, I leave for a little while and look what pops up.. Very nice setup k-mod, You said you got the cam done by Paeco? If you dont mind me asking why did you choose them? That is not but a few miles from my house and they are kind of high on the price. Im running a 75 shot on my 88 4door with a 87 motor, Just had a ring break on me sunday night, and picked up another 87 motor today, acually found one with only 112k miles on it.. I would like to talk more about your setup.. Did you ever use the differend accord intakes? as in the 87 or 88, I have been using the 88, I was just wondering if the 87 might show different results when using n20. Sorry for all these questions but I cant get on this site at work anymore, work blocked it.. Did you do these times with drag slicks/radials or what.. my best time is 14.9 at 94. with alot of wheel spin.. that was with a 65 shot, now with the 75 I have only run the 8th, my old times in the 8th with the 65 were 9.6 or 9.7, now Im running 9.4 or 9.5, still my 60 foot times are like 2.3, need tires bad.. well againg sorry for all the questions but have to get them all in at once.. It has been a while since i have been on here do to work blocking this site.. what the hell is up with that, I guess your not to look at cars at work.. Not like they need me to work or anything.. hahaha.. later

I chose the Paeco cam b/c at the time when I got the cam done I was new to the whole performance scene. The cam has worked great, but now I am going to have WEB Cams do another cam to see if it makes more power. Those times were run on drag slicks(22x8.0x15) w/ a very conservative 2.0sec 60 foot. I come out the whole off the juice. I have a timer hooked up that makes it come on 1 sec after I drop the clutch. I do that b/c I dont want to break the trans or clutch. As far as the intakes go I never used anything but the 88-89 intakes. The older ones have smaller runners and smaller throttle body(no good) The next step up would be a modified LS Integra manifold. I sell those for $100. After that its a modified AEBS B16 manifold($150). What type of Nitrous setup are you using Dry,Wet,single, four fogger?? If you make a mistake on the tuning those ring lands break real easy.

Answering the question- w or w/o the gas- the white runs 13.5, and the gold one runs 13.8. The timing advance I gave was for on the juice. When I'm not juicin I run abount 20-21 base degrees timing(Mid 15's). I put all my money into the white one so she has a Walbro 255, and the gold one has a 2003 Honda Passport fuel pump. On the gold car I just throw it together w/ what ever I come across, I try to only put money into the white one. The gold one is just my "Hoopty". Thats why I love her, she's old as hell, I paid $300 for it, and I just threw it together with parts I had laying around. She stills runs 13.8: SOHC, 12valve, No VTEC, rusty, 16 yrs old, faded paint, and she still beats Civics, Integras, Type R's. Whenever I race one of those, it feels so good to beat them. The look on their face is priceless. The competion is gettin hard out there thats why I,m going w/ boost on the white one. When I bring that car back out, I'm shootin for at least low 11's(Boosted 2.0L B18 w/100shot)

I dont have any pics of his car, but I know him and will see if I can get some from him. His car is kick ass, as far as A20 performance goes. Last I heard he went 10.98@127mph. Thats who I'm chasing after, I told him come spring me and him will have to battle it out on the drag strip. My white car(2.0L B18w/ boost &100shot)should be done by then. I was shootin for low 11's but now I guess I got go 10's. This winter I'm boostin the gold car(A20) lookin to go 12's.

oh making enough power to go 12's is a snap with a turbo, the problem in this order is clutch and traction. i can literally annilalte the tires now with the new header, and exhuast mos we made to the system.

With or without the gas?

well 13's without gas would be a stretch...so i would just get a 32/36 and ethier A.drill the nozzles into the baseplate or B.just spray it from the intake...which has become more common now since its so easy to install...hell I might even spray the stock carb...but I think the auto would give up after that

:welcome:
You should have made a new topic. You should be able to install that without too many problems, you don't use N2O for more than a few seconds at a time. Just make sure you have fresh tranny fluid and you know when to and when not to use the button.
