You can fix it with a 5 speed swap.

other than checking the shift cable for adjustment the rest is all internal like shift valves

i think thats a sign that ur transmission is going. U might wanna get it checked out before u do anything though, transmissions are hella expensive.

So it doesn't shift into 4th when in D4... it just continues to rev in 3rd? or it slips once it gets to 4th?

or D4 doesn't select any of the gears in it's range.

it just acts like nuetral at about 30-35mph...in d3 i can take it to about 90 at 5k

...Tranny time...no adjustments, it's either in gear (O.D.) or shot...got a used one sittin in my garage if yer interested.
If not, you might try a full trans fush...but never seen that do anything but line the pockets of the lube shops that perform the operation...

i've got the same problem with my tranny. it's worst on cold mornings, but after a bit of driving and shifting it gets a little better. i also don't have the money to get a new tranny and i get the feeling it will go sometime soon. (knock on wood) when i have mine in D4 it kinda jumps around a bit. i would love to get a 5spd swap, but like i said, no $$$.
