For my x-mas present to myself I am going to upgrade the front blown jensens in my car and my amp. To replace the front speakers I am not sure if I want to go with the infinity references which are cheaper (http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/INFREF6002I) or with the infinity kappa's which are a little pricier but come with an external crossover (http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/INFKAPPA625I). (But since all of these amps have high/low pass crossovers will I really need to use the crossover?)
I want to get an amp that will have clean power and with 4 channels so I can power both the front speakers and the rear single sub. I am looking a few amps, they are all pretty close money wise, but I like the profile the most so far since it has speaker level inputs, here they are:

http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/USAUSX4065

If all of these are junk I could possibly consider the MTX amp that is about $30 with a little less rated power

This is what I could come up with after a bunch of research and a bunch of blown crappy speakers. Any help would be appreciated.

don't use speaker level inputs. it will sound like shit. Use preoutputs on your CD player. sound will be a lot cleaner.

Well it is either the speaker level inputs or I use a Line-Out-Converter. My Pioneer hu only has a sub preout, is was the $150 model and I got it for $90 (at the time I bought it I didn't realize I would ever need more than sub pre-outs). But what is wrong with speaker level inputs, by friend's audiobahn amps have them and his four mmats sound pretty good to me for being fed by a stock HU. Which is better, the converter, or the speaker level inputs?

I do want components but they are a bit pricier then the ones I am looking at. I think I am just gonna try it w/o a new HU for now. If I change my mind I'll sell mine and I'll go from there. Do you have a link to where you got the HIFONICS amps? If it is too powerful they should have ones that arent as powerful, at least I would think they would.

Ok I searched and found that everyone thinks speaker level inputs suck, so I guess since I dont want to get a new head unit, I'll just buy a line out converted for the Kappas. Could someone recommend a link to where I could find a high quality line out converter? I did buy one from pep-boys (since it is the only place that sold them around here) and it sucked, but I sold it.

Also, is there any opinions on the kappas vs. reference 6 1/2's? Are the kappas alot better or should I just get the reference.

dude, get the reference component set. I have it, it's awesome when paired with the right speakers in the rear deck.

And...the kappas are only better if you plan on running them at max power most of the time (which is louder than you can stand). You need not spend the extra money.

And check crutchfield.com because they have good deals on these from time to time.

Actually Sounddomain has them cheaper then anywhere else I could find. They also have free shipping. I don't want to get the component set though, just the 6.5, they are ALOT cheaper.

Either way, "the kappas are only better if you plan on running them at max power most of the time (which is louder than you can stand). You need not spend the extra money"
