This is more a question aimed at the more experienced guys, or girls, out there... I just bought an 89 LX-i that had a snapped T-Belt... Pulled off the rocker arm rod to close all the valves and did a compression test. Came back with results of.... 60-0-30-0 = 4,3,2,1. SO! I am led to belive I need to fix the valves, possiably the pistons. The basics are self explanitory what I am asking help with is this: What else should I do? I'm very new to these engines so I don't know all the little tips and what not. I'm just looking for recomendations of other things to do while I have the head off fixing this stuff...
Thanks for your help guys

_ Justin

It could be a leaky head gasket too

While you have the head off Degrease your engine :D

I dunno... Replace seals on the water pump and oil pump perhaps... It's all up to you.

Clean out the PCV system..

Once the heads off you can take the pistons/rods out with engine still in car. And replace rings and rod bearings. Make sure you line up the ring gaps. Or you could just spot check them. Take a ring off and put it back into cylinder and gauge the clearance. And check bearings for wear.

But the valves are bent most likely. Check the top of pistons also.
