Well, it was time to retire my '89 LX-i coupe. It had 400,120 miles when I parked it at the junkyard. It was sad to say goodbye to such a loyal car, but it was time. This will be my last post here.

if i can get 400K + i will be able to drive mine for like EVER...HAHAHA!!! i love my car ...
400K only means that you should rip all of the engine parts out and upgrade everything. Then you drive another 400K.
You dont have to leave... there are multiple Previous owners on this site.

Dear god, I put 5k a year on my car. That means it'll take me 62.2 years to reach 400k. Hmm..that really is insane.

I was 16 years old and had just gotten my license. That car lasted me through high school and college, moved me across the country, took me to 27 different states, Canada, Mexico, through blizzards, across deserts. I lost my virginity in it, got my first speeding ticket in it, got high for the first time in it, drove it across the Golden Gate Bridge, down Rodeo Drive, to Mardi Gras, New York City. Believe it or not, the A/C was still blowing cold air when I parked it for the last time, never having been serviced. It was hard to let it go, but it needed too much work to save it.

Whats wrong with it? It has to be fixable.
We could have a 3geez fundraiser!

:) I am smiling now, haha.

So far mine's lasted me through high school and 2 years of college. Got pulled over for the first time in it, got in my first accident in it, learned all about car for the first time with it, got up to 125 mph for the first time in it, had my first sexual experience in it. Yep, I love my 3g.

WOW! If you could just have gotten a pic of the odometer so we could set here somewhere for a memorial. :)

Don't worry zero.... I've only got 81,300 miles to go, so a few more years and I'll be at 400k myself :D heheh

David89, just out of curiousity, did you use to post on our previous boards under the name "highmileage"? You sound familiar for some reason.....

David89, just out of curiousity, did you use to post on our previous boards under the name "highmileage"? You sound familiar for some reason..... Yeah, that was me too. I could make a list of what was wrong with it, but it would take a while. The major problems were the valve stem seals were worn, it would burn a quart of oil every 100 miles. The tranny would grind when shifting gears. The tie rods, balljoints, and struts were worn out. The body was rusted out, windshield was cracked. It was a tired car, I had to put it out of it's misery. Junkyard gave me 220 bucks for it, not bad for a car I bought 6 years ago for 1500 bucks and put 1/4 million more miles on it!

Oh yeah, and I did get several pictures of the odometer at 400,000 miles. I'll see if I can post them.

...its a hard backseat to work with...luckily the seatbacks can fold 3/4 of the way forward... that helps alittle.
and i give you credit, the 3gee isnt exactly a "chick-magnet" car, i knew my girlfriend before i started driving mine.

I have an 89 lxi coupe which I bought in July. I fell in love with it so much I sold my 94 Eclipse to keep it. I have 246000 on it and will do anything to see it hit 400,000. (I will also do anything to lose my virginity in it.) Thats awesome that it lasted that long dude. Congrats.
