shifter lock on a auto

thiscar has a lock on the shifter. locks it in park. we want to get rid of it. there's two wires thats part of the locking stuff. what are those for ? if i just unplug them something somewhere is not going to work. so what's up with that ?

You need to pull that unit out and link the wires together bypassing the little magnetic puller. Remove all the brassy colored bits associated with the shift lock and thats it.
