I know some of this has been brought up but i havent found exactly what im looking for. Any help i would be greatful.

1. My car in the mornings and after not driving it for a few i dont know maybe 7 hours it will start up then cut off and i have to keep gas and brake just to get out of the parking lot at work. The car then must drive about a mile in this cool weather before it warms up and once it is warm there are no problems. When it is not warm my car shuts off a few times before i can get it out of the driveway.

2.My cooling fans arent comming on and when in traffic that is bad my car starts over heating.

Any suggestions?

1. Sounds like an idle control valve or maybe a choke problem. There has been a few posts recently dealing with this that might be helpful.

2. Could be the temp switch. On the bottom of your radiator is a temp switch. Disconnect the plug and short it out, then turn the key on.

If the fans come on the switch is bad. Be careful if you go to an auto parts store for a replacement, because I went thru 2 or 3 new ones that didn't work until I went to the junk yard for one that finally worked.

overheating can be cause by falty fan switch or bad thermostat.
i would replace them both. they are not that expensive.
