What do you put in your manual gearboxes ?

Haynes says 10W30 or 10W40 motor oil

I changed it last week and my 2-3rd gear synchros are going bad since this time. Maybe the guy who had the car before me never changed it and now it doesn't like fresh oil...

What could help ? Higher viscosity oil ?

I'd have probably found that in search but it doesn't work

i use regular 20w-50 oil. it is a little bit thicker but it is better for lubricaiton.
about the syncros, do you have problems putting in gear? if it doesn't grind, than you have problems with fork shifter.
if sincro dies, you will hear grinding.

When My syncros went to shit I used valvoline 10w-30 and 1 full bottle of lucas tranny fix. It made everything 1000% better untill my rebuild

I'm pretty sure it's the synchros. It's not a grind yet...more a clicking I would say. I can avoid it by going very slowly into gear or double clutching

I currently use that and one bottle Lucas Tranny FIX but I never tried it with my worn syncros so I decided to not recomend it.

i've gotten a bottle of lucas tranny fix but havn't gotten around to changing the oil. o, can anyone give me any adivise on changing it? all it says in the little owners manual is "must be level" but that you may want to raise your car or something to do it.

The filling hole is accesible from above the car. I used a funnel(I don't know if it's the good english word) and a pipe. Maybe they mean the car has to be level because that the only way to know when it's full is when the fluid tops off the bottom of the hole. If the front of the car is jacked, you'll put less fluid in the tranny before it reaches the hole

I had to get under the car to get the drain bolt off. I don't know if we can reach it from above

I'll try this Lucas FIX and see if it helps...

The really only way to keep the car level and change the oil is to unbolt the speed sensor and run a funnel down to that hole...... But Lucas and Honda Manual fluid is a nice mix....:D

I changed my fluid by just turning the wheel all the way to the left and then I could get to the drain and fill plugs.

the best part about lucas is you can use the bottle to get to the hole to fill the tranny and then refill the bottle with honda MTF
