Sweet get one for sure... I was going to get one after I get a CF hood. :D

The hood scoop I have now is too low of an opening... but the STI has a bigger mouth so you should take in a good chunk of air.

where can you get carbon fiber hoods from...im sure there's a thread on this i'll look but i like direct information more. and how do you make the hood scoop? just cut a hole in your hood and rivet on the scoop? i would like to do it but i don't have experience with body work, is it easy to make it look good, like it's supposed to be there?

It depends how the scoop is made... if there is enough mounting surface you can get away with just epoxy. if there isn't you might need bolts or rivets. The bolts would be for the center of the scoop... but again it all depends how the scoop is made.

Thanks for the link pip. Do you guys know what those splitters are below the scoops? Is that so you can close off the airflow to the scoop and then open it?

i dunno i was wondering the same thing.. i think it goes underneath the scoop and controls flow to the intercooler...
i wonder if it opens and closes with speed or rpms...

I think that would be sweet if we could control the airflow especially if you live where I do and don't want freezing air in the winter.

yeah thats the same for me too...
i'm gonna look into this splitter business

the splitter evenly distributes air all over the intercooler so u don't get hotspots around the edges.

u could cool ur header if u put that and a hoodscoop near ur headlights

Do a search on ebay for 86 or 89 hood and it should come up. Anyone got a picture of the scoop that they can photoshop onto a 3g so this guy can see what it looks like?
