Oh its a meet baby! Its a big one!!

This is the official meet for all of California, Oregon, Washington, and Arizona. The date WILL BE April 16-18. This is the weekend of Kool April Nites Car show. The show starts April 14 and goes until the 18th. For those of you unfortunate ones that do not already have the 2004 STUFF, FHM, or MAXIM calenders (I have all three) April 16 - 18 is a friday saturday and sunday.

This is probably the biggest and coolest event of the year, and as we were discussing during our mini meet, why not get everybody to come down and represent. Unfortunately only cars that are like 78' and older can enter the show, but that doesnt stop us from taking a million parking spots to take pictures. when the Cruz is 'officially' over other cars are allowed to join in the circle. If remember correctly I believe Kool April Nites also marks the official opening of street legal drags, so we should also be able to train on over to the drag strips and show what old school rice is made of!!

Now that an Official Date is set I will accept no excuses :D You have 5 months to get time off work, save money, and plan your trip. Our meet last weekend was a lot of fun and I would expect only for this meet to be 5 times better.

And yes I have to save money too, because I told Justin and Matt, that if everybody came down, I would buy all the meet and everything for the BBQ!! :omg: I dont know what I was thinking when i said that!

if you have any more questions, you can contact me.

5 months and counting! lets make it happen

Hmmm, my friend has family down there, I might go. It will be a 7 hour trip atleast though, we will prolly end up staying the night in the wal-mart parking lot, but I will try to make it.

PS: I will have kicker's car by then, and when I hook up the cold air intake, I'll be ready to take some of you on! :)

shut up!, all previous 3 gee owners are welcome!! thank you much. we actually have less than 4 month to go though. Im already excited. ahh yes this reminds me of a great quote.

And where might us out of towners stay for the night? I wouldn't mind a motel, but if you have other arrangements I wouldn't mind saving $50.

um, do the people at the drag strips do inspections on vehicles that are going to be running???? cause, um, ya, my radiator is being held up by weadeater wire right now and my battery being held down by a bungee cord.

i'll think about coming to this, i've always wanted to make a road trip down to cali. we'll see how it goes, and i'll talk to my friends and see if they wanna do a road trip.

MarioBurke
12-20-2003, 11:47 AM
Well Kicker right now we are having a little difficulty, for reasons we dont need to explain right now, but like i said we have 4 months so we or I shall have a new place to live and everyone is more than welcome to sleep on floors and what not. lol i dont know if we will have any furniture or not but oh well. it leaves plenty of floor space.

Yes they do inspect the cars at the track, but im not sure exactly what they look for other than you have all caps and hoses tired. battery is secure. windows and door locks work. headlights and tail lights, brakes, and basic stuff like that. hide the zip ties or something. or get a new bracket. we have the junk yard down here that sells parts real cheap if worse comes to worse.

Hell yeah sleeping in your car is the best way to go. that way if someone is breaking in you know wtf is going on and you can take them by surprise.

Bitesize, where are you from? Terry and I just did the trip from here to Washington, its not all that bad of a drive. it was a good 7 or 8 hour drive, but we were going slow for the most part. and we did it in two seperate cars. lol. it should be one sweet event and twice as good if tons a 3 gee lovin members show up.

For us that have school the car show is held during spring break. Now some schools and states hold spring break at different times but that is why the meet is on the weekend.

Mystic1
12-23-2003, 02:27 AM
I better start planning. I'll do my best to be there too. Its only about a 5 hour trip for me so I don't have that many excuses not to.

BTW, NXracer, Redding is more like 2 or 3 hours from the CA/OR border. And thats holding 75/80 most of the way. I come over HW199 to Grants Pass and south on I-5 to get there when I visit family so I have an idea of what it will take.

MattsAccord
12-23-2003, 07:36 AM
It's not 2 or 3 hour to Redding from the border. It takes about 2 hours and 15 mins. to get from Medford, Oregon to Redding and Medford in 35 mile north or California.

Mystic1
12-23-2003, 10:28 AM
Well thats darn close to 2 hours :cool2: rember, I'm holding 75/80. I must have been thinking from Grants Pass to Redding. Thats where I have to change HW's and where I make a food and gas stop (every thing is cheaper in OR (luck Ba****ds)j/k).

BITESIZE
12-23-2003, 10:30 AM
So just how many people are going to show up?

Justin86
12-23-2003, 10:33 AM
Mystic1 couldn't you just go down to Arcata and take 299 to Redding? If you do go through Grants Pass we should meet up since I live right off 199 just outside of GP.

BITESIZE
12-23-2003, 10:36 AM
mmmm....that's what i should do. Meet up with some of you guys just to be safe and I would make it there better.

Justin86
12-23-2003, 10:58 AM
Yea it take me about 2 1/2 hours from Grants Pass doing about 70mph. Having no sales tax does kick ass but now gas in Cali is cheaper even with the tax then in Southern Oregon. Bitesize you could meet up in Medford but that just mean more driving for you.

BITESIZE
12-23-2003, 11:04 AM

86 accord in C.P. , I might take you up on that offer. That sounds like a good plan.

MarioBurke
12-23-2003, 10:44 PM
I am liking all this interest in the meet. Since the meet is in spring time the roads will be nice and clear. it takes a little less then two hours to get from redding to medford when the roads are in good driveable condition. the only reason it takes 2 hours or more is when it is raining.

I wanna see ATLEAST 15 cars (3Geez), if not more. Its getting closer and closer already. with only a couple days left in december we have a little under four months. but still plenty of time to save and make plans.

I dont remember who said it, but unless you are FROM Arcata or that general area, dont take 299 to redding, because that is a 3 and 1/2 hour drive by itself.

T's87lx
12-23-2003, 10:57 PM

What's the best and shortest way for me to go? (from Boise)
I've driven that a million times, I'll see if I can remember the best way. Ok, here's what I would do:

1: Start out going Southeast on W GROVE ST toward S 6TH ST. 0.0 miles
2: Turn RIGHT onto S 6TH ST. 0.0 miles
3: Turn RIGHT onto W FRONT ST/US-20 W/US-26 W. Continue to follow US-20 W/US-26 W. 1.5 miles
4: Stay straight to go onto I-184 W. 2.7 miles
5: Merge onto I-84 W via the exit- on the left. 51.1 miles
6: Take the US-30-BR exit- exit number 376A- toward US-20/ONTARIO/US-26. 0.3 miles
7: Merge onto E IDAHO AVE. 0.8 miles
8: Turn LEFT onto SW 2ND ST/OLDS FERRY ONTARIO HWY/OR-201. 0.2 miles
9: Turn RIGHT onto OLDS FERRY ONTARIO HWY/SW 4TH AVE/OR-201. Continue to follow OLDS FERRY ONTARIO HWY/OR-201. 4.2 miles
10: Turn SLIGHT RIGHT. 0.1 miles
11: Turn RIGHT onto US-20 W/CENTRAL OREGON HWY/US-26 W. Continue to follow US-20 W. 125.2 miles
12: Turn RIGHT onto W MONROE ST/US-395/US-20. Continue to follow US-395. 138.8 miles
13: Turn LEFT onto N F ST/US-395/FREMONT HWY. Continue to follow US-395. 53.5 miles
14: Stay straight to go onto CA-299/W 12TH ST. Continue to follow CA-299 W. 140.7 miles
15: CA-299 W becomes LAKE BLVD E. 0.5 miles
16: Turn LEFT onto CA-273 S. 1.8 miles
17: Turn LEFT onto SHASTA ST. 0.0 miles
18: End at Redding CA

I can't rememer exactly, but I think it's about:
Total Est. Time: 10 hours, 55 minutes Total Est. Distance: 522.36 miles

and I took the liberty of drawing you a map, paint ownz me

Mystic1 couldn't you just go down to Arcata and take 299 to Redding? If you do go through Grants Pass we should meet up since I live right off 199 just outside of GP.

I could but I find that 199 is better maintaind then 299 alowing a little more speed. I checked with mapquest and it says that Crescent City to Redding with 299 is 206 miles and aproximatly 3.48 hours. While taking 199 is 262 miles and 3.8 hours driving time. I would be adding only about 10 minutes but 54 mile. Better road but more miles. Also, I just like I-5. Higher speed limit :cool2:

Mystic1
12-25-2003, 04:33 PM
On second thought mapquest said that it is an hour from here to Arcada, but I usualy do it in about 40 minutes....
... ..on the other hand a line of 3gees from GP to Redding on I5 would be cool
...ok, my brain hurts now

Justin86
12-25-2003, 08:04 PM
Yea i have never taken 299 but on the map it looks quicker. We are going to have to meet up somewhere.

So what will be some of the activities for the meet. I was thinking that going to lake shasta would be sweet. There is a lot of hotties there.

MarioBurke
12-27-2003, 12:52 AM
well we wont really have time to go to the lake. besides with Kool april nites around all the hotties should be on the street corners. i thinking if the police are gonna be swinging the street during this event, we might be able to go up to whiskey town again and get some side by side slalom going.
