Has anyone bypassed the EGR valve? If so how did you do it and how did the car run?

I pulled mine out and filled the valve with JB weld. I let it sit overnite and reinstalled the valve. I lack the the resources to make a decent looking plate to block it off. Here is what I did with the EGR tube and the Air suction tube.

I chopped off the ends of the tubes, bent them back and welded them shut. You could find a bolt to put in there but I had no such luck finding them. The Air suction tube can only be removed if you do the vacuum line removal listed in the howto section.

It runs strong and gets better gas mileage. I have also ripped out the Power steering (useless in my opinion), cruise control (also useless), and A/C (Broken).

you have to be careful because if you run without egr you can get into detonation easily

So what timing do you reccomend to pervent detonation? I am running at 16 degrees right now. I also usually use 91 octane.

just make sure your cooling system is up to par, I've run 19 degrees with no EGR on 92 octane with no rattling or pinging
