again, sorry for the cell phone pics. i promise high-res pics when i get the whole job done after paint and widebody and all.

here is the hood im planning to fabricate hoping to use either a fiberglass evo center vent insert or an evo carbon fiber hood from the 90-93 teg since i have the 90-93 teg front and would flow perfectly:
http://www.erebunicorp.com/images/ACCESS/mirage910he282eb.jpg
http://images.andale.com/f2/121/127/10579138/1054540643636_evo_hood.jpg
i have to find out the measurements of the 90-93 teg hood first. if the width is right and the length is enough, all it takes is cutting the corners where the flip up headlights are. im planning to change the headlights in the future to stationary projectors with black housing once i fabricate it out of clear plexiglass.

here's the wing i'll be getting:

Seriously! I want to more about how you are going to pull off this hood conversion. If you can pull off the widebody, well, congradulations, you are god. The hood is more in view over the horizon, so I am looking forward to seeing that done. I was going to do something similar to my hood. I was going to try it out on my old totaled car first, since hte hood is crap anyhow, if I messed it up, it wouldn't make a difference! :P

That looks dope as fuck, what body kit is that? How much molding, cutting and fiberglassing did it take for you to put it on? Also, where did you buy it? Link or something. :ugh: it looks very nice, i love that body kit. :ugh:

Looks good vato, the fender flare will be tough with the amount of room you have to work with on the 4-door, but for some promising ideas...take a look at a certain 4-door skyline from Blitz

answers:
- the body kit is 90-93 accord Black Widow sides and rear. sides are cut and molded together to be shorter about 4 inches. the rear's upper corners had to be cut and squared off just a bit so it doesnt curve in under the taillights.
- front is 90-93 integra extreme II. custom cut at the top part and squared off and refiberglassed and bondo to flow with the squareness of the car. i used the stock bumper as a template to make a copy of the upper mounting surface.
- evo5 hood and wing can both be found at Erebuni's website, or find some knockoff ones on eBay. they are just as good without the high price in my opinion. if you want the fiberglass to be thicker, you can always refiberglass if you know how to.
- the car has dc sports headers, AEM CAI off a 6th gen accord, Ractive triple core wires from 6th gen accord, Bosch platinum +4 spark plugs (installed)/NGK Iridiums (on hand), Carsound freeflow cat, 2.25" duals to twin DTM style mufflers. that's about it engine-wise. but don't get me wrong, this car is quick. it's quick enough to zip through traffic despite heavier 18 inch wheels. but this car will be a show car when i'm done with it. im buying a new car for daily driving (2004 acura RSX type S or 2004 mazda 3). so there is no sense in making it fast if it's only job is to cruise and go to car shows. i had a fast car b4 (92 mustang GT). it was totally impractical. just a waste of money in gas and speeding tickets. not worth it in my opinion. plus, i will have some heavy audio/video equipment in the trunk and back cabin in a custom fiberglassed interior. engine is rebuilt now at around 5k miles since new. i prefer the longevity of the engine rather than wasting money on it to make it work harder. it's an older car, parts are hard to come by. so i baby this car.

SO ANYWAYS, I HOPE THAT HELPS. I NEED TO REPRIMER THE WHOLE CAR AGAIN. I GOT LIKE 3 DIFFERENT SHADES OF GREY PRIMER ON IT. LOL.

Wow!~ car looks amazing man. I really really like it. And with a widebody it will be awesome!

I think the hood is a ciik udea as well, but I am not sure if I like the wing yet, I can tell you for sure that the evo 8 wing would look way better than the evo5 but IMO i think i nice flat deck wing, or even the APR mini drag wing would look just awesome on your car, i think you should look in to it.

Just out of curiousity, what do you have planned for paint? and for the stereo?

And one last thing... with 18's on the car, do you have rubbing problems? And what rims are those?

How are you gonna make the widebody? I've never seen a 3gee with wide fenders before but i've thought a lot about it (not like the one in the picture though), because regulations in my country requires the fenders to cover the tires, wich makes wide rims impossible without widening the fenders.
Looks real good so far!

yeah i like the evo8 wing better actually. my paint is gonna candy pearl white with chrome flakes or like a candy jade green like this car:
http://www.autobuzz.com/.gallery/363/large/e12734891ca9208b1dc0a0f0c315d095.jpg
or like an aztec orange pearl like this car:
http://www.autobuzz.com/.gallery/363/large/9c0ace2be44278deb1d425f57c179bd3.jpg

the rims are 18x8 inch ADR Lightnings. i dunno if it's still for sale out there. i'd like to get a new set for shows since i ride on these everyday. they are wrapped with 215/35/18ZR tires.

the 18's don't have any rubbing problems. i have the car lowered 2.25" with sprint springs and koni shocks. i have the konis set to the max and the ride is very stiff so it never rubs the fenders. if you have non-adjustable shocks, i suggest not making your car lower than 2" if you are gonna roll on 18's since the shocks will be soft. if i have weight in the car the back used to rub but i rolled the fender lips so that took cared of it. basically i have the maxed out size rim you can fit in this car.

OH YEAH, MERRY CHRISTMAS BUDS!

not too much, about $450 plus $160 shipping from IMPORTFAN.com. their kits are high quality GTP brand. just look up 90-93 accord and 90-93 integra front. just be wise and choose the one easy to cut and fabricate. cus no doubt you're gonna have to with a 3gee. it's not a direct fit. there's also Ebay if you wanna go cheaper, but those kits are thinner and lower quality. you might want to refiberglass them to make them as strong as the genuine kits. like they say, you get what you pay for.

Thanks man, and merry christmas to you as well.

for now i have:

-Alpine CDA 7863 240 watt CD receiver (4 channels x 60 watts) MOSFET FINAL
-4 Alpine 6 1/2" Speakers front and back
-two 12" 1200watt JBL subs with box (for now)
-2 Cuspid audio 1200 watt amps, one per sub (these are eBay shit, they don't push hard at all; just enough bass but nothing earth-shaking)
-optima yellow top battery ($140)

future plans/shopping list are:

-full fiberglass and painted interior
-upgrade amps to 2 phoenix gold amps 600watts x 4channels (2400 watts each total)
-move optima battery to trunk
-2 capacitors; high wattage alternator (maybe from wrecked ambulance or police car)
-no backseat; replaced with custom painted fiberglass enclosures for two 12" cerwin vega loudspeakers and two 18" JL audio W3 subs. a couple of LCD screens as well
-shaved rear door handles during widebody intallation with door poppers
-LCD screens in cupholder area, inside trunk, and each front door panel (custom fiberglass enclosures)
-PS2, tv receiver, 12 disc cd changer
-upgrade my alarm to clifford G5 pager alarm
-upgrade speakers to MB Quart components in custom fiberglass door and rear window decklid enclosures
-new racing reupholstered seats (black middle and matching car's color outer)

.....and the list goes on.....

most important upgrade of all is my job!!! lol. hopefully once i get the exterior done i can advertise and get sales for freelance window tinting and car alarm and audio installations. my own little business to get me some extra cash so i can do the interior stuff. maybe sponsorship at car shows would help too.

what do you suggest for components? BOSE? Infinity Kappa?

Hash_man_Se_i

Infiniti makes good speakers, but if you want some really good speakers, spend a bit extra and get some Focals. Come to think of it, they really arent that much more than some MB quarts.

I have only heard POLK audio once before, and it was in a POLK demo car at a car show. It sounded pretty good to me, but I haven't really heard too much about them, and I dont even think there are any shops that sell it locally in my area. And I dont think you will hear that much of a difference between 3-ways and componants if you get really good componants.

The engine looks soooo much nicer when you have the option of moving the battery out of the engine bay. The cool thing about the Optimas (we carry them at Schwab's by the way :) ) is that you can hang them at any angle, or in any postion, and it won't effect the batteries performance or safety. I plan on relocating the batterie in the new car to a different location too, though I don't know where. We just relocated a battery in an Impala to the trunk, be prepared to do A LOT of planning for this, but it is worth it in the end!!! :)

ICEMAN707

all it takes is a long heavy-guage red amp cable, new brass gold plated connectors, a battery hold-down bracket, and short heavy-guage black amp wire to connect to the body metal.

if you have a Circuit City store in your area. they carry it as their leading speakers in sound quality. i think the components separate the high, mid, and low frequencies more effeciently thus making them sound better compared to a 3 way working all 3 frequencies at once? i dunno, i've been using 3 ways.

Hash_man_Se_i

Nope, there is no circuit city around here.. But there have been sound quality contests every year worldwide, and Focal has come out on top for almost the past 3 years I beleive... they also make 3-ways. I am just reccomending them, because I know how amazingly good they sound, and how good quality they are, but I cant say I have heard any bad things about POLK so if you think they sound good then go for it.

thanks for the audio advice hash man! anyways, i don't need to worry about that right now. it's still gonna be awhile before i get to that. right now i need to get working on the widebody. but the weather temp to me is not good to be working outside on a car. im in FL and i know it's not that cold in the day, maybe like 53. but still cold enough to make it uncomfortable to work in. i had the flu and i dont intend on going through that again. lol. i wish i had a heated garage. so right now i've been lazy and doing nothing to the car besides giving it a quick wash. winter is pretty depressing. *sigh* i can't wait for spring to roll in. then i would work on my car daily non-stop till the exterior is all done and ready for paint. well, at least i got the "normal" bodykit in place. just need the widebody, hood, and wing now to transform this car into something else. no offence to those hardcore 3geers but, i intend to make this car not look like a 3gee anymore. uniqueness is what's it all about and that's what gets points at car shows. plus, not too many 3gees in shows out there. how many do you see with widebody and projector headlights? (yeah sorry, im killing the flip ups too for custom made projector housings) hehe.

Alpine or Infinity. I have an Alpine headunit and infinity speaks and they flat out kick ass.

yeah i have an Alpine headunit and it kicks ass. it really gets those high mid and low frequencies really good. the highs are so ear-piercing, my puppy can't even stay in the car for too long cruising with me. starts howling and stuff. lol. what i need now is some bass. i have JBL 1200 watt 12" subs and they dont seem to be pushing as i expected them to be. i got these small amps (9"x10"size) that says 1200 watts but i hardly doubt it. damn eBay shits. i knew something this small wouldnt be pushing 1200 watts. cus in the amp world, bigger is better. but they were cheap and got them for $40 a piece. for all you audio experts out there, how is 2x80W RMS power pushing 1200 watts (4x300W) max? or maybe these amps are speaker amps and made a mistake of using them for sub amps?

Hash_man_Se_i
12-27-2003, 03:50 PM
go to www.audison.com for amps. My audison is something like 7" x 10" and man can I tell you size doesnt mean anything. My amp is rated at 420W RMS @ 4ohms, and it doesnt even have a peak rating, but I can tell you, my sub is 2000W peak, and this amp is definately pushing at least 1000W peak.

But I also have a friend right now trying to sell a clarion 1000watt digital amp, and clarion makes really good amps as well.

And If I can, I will get some pictures of a local 87 prelude with custom projectors. I posted the picture on here some time ago, and I think it looks awesome. He got rid of the pop ups, and it looks sweeet. I think it will suit your car very well.

that's sweet man hook me up with those pics. also, does "RMS" really mean alot when choosing an amp? what does it stand for?

Hash_man_Se_i
12-27-2003, 11:49 PM
I dont exactly know what RMS stans for, but yes it means a lot, it is the number which you really want to look at when choosing an amp. For example, take a look at the Xplod amps, they say that the amp is 800watts, but that is its peak rating at 1 ohm, but they really only run about 200watts RMS @ 4ohms, and that is Xplod power, which is nothing lol.

Then compare something like my Audison, and an Alpine MRD-M500.
The M500 is 500W peak, but only 250W peak @ 4 ohms. And my amp is 420W rms @ 4 ohms, and probably near 1000W or more @4ohms, and they are both around the same price.
The only advantage of the Alpine is the fact that it is digital, and therefore it becomes easier on the charging system of the car. But then again, the alpine has a 1 year warranty, and the audison is a 3yr from the factory, which is in good old Italy.

I am trying to find those pictures of that prelude right now, but I'm not having much luck, so to tide you over, here are some pics of that guys civic. It is supercharged, with all custom body work.

I am gonna be dead honest with you dude.

Awsome Front bumper fabrication. It looks much better that the one in ur avatar.

Rear bumper looks like ass. Please, it just looks like ass, you should have gotten the kaminari or Xenon for the rear bumper and side skirts.

THe hood, i dont know about that. Its too flat on our hood not curvy or slopy as the Evo or the F50s.

ANyway, Kudos for your ideas and hardwork. :D

looks like he just molded an A-pillar guage to the hood though. looks clean but i don't like guages in my car. i see cars with so many guages for everything. i mean, who has time to read guages when they are concentrating (and should be) on their driving? especially when you're racing. that's probably why he mounted that on the hood so he can still keep an eye on the road. anyway, i think extra guages are useless for everyday driving on a relatively stock car with simple bolt ons.

i still don't get what you are saying here either. i dont see anything wrong with the rear. if you like xenon or kaminari, go for it. they look 80's old school to me and plain. im not trying to play "keep up with the jones's" and try to look like everyone else who has a xenon/kaminari kit. being different is what gets noticed.

THe hood, i dont know about that. Its too flat on our hood not curvy or slopy as the Evo or the F50s.

if you are referring to the pic, you should have known better that that pic is not the hood i am planning to put on. that is just an example. I AM NOT putting that hood on. i am making the stock hood like that out of fiberglass fabrication. come on man, think before you bash.

ANyway, Kudos for your ideas and hardwork. :D

thanks but i wasn't trying to please anyone or give any ideas. to each his own. and it's not hardwork if it's your hobby and you enjoy what you are doing:cool2:

looks like he just molded an A-pillar guage to the hood though. looks clean but i don't like guages in my car. i see cars with so many guages for everything. i mean, who has time to read guages when they are concentrating (and should be) on their driving? especially when you're racing. that's probably why he mounted that on the hood so he can still keep an eye on the road. anyway, i think extra guages are useless for everyday driving on a relatively stock car with simple bolt ons.

Oh i totally agree with you, but if he actually drove that car, those would be somewhat usefull because he does have the Jackson supercharger under the hood of that civic, along with some other stuff.

And I dont know why smufguy is goin off like that, I mean its not his car, to each his own. I may not like everything you are doing to your car Iceman but I think the amount, and quality of work you are putting in to this car is incredible, and it will look great when you are done with it.,

i highly doubt he races that car anyways being that it's so clean. plus that suspension is too low. if it's on bags, then it wouldn't be for racing. having bags adds alot of weight to the car with the air compressor and all. but yeah, would be nice to have a 96-99 civic si motor since they make a jackson racing supercharger for it. or better yet, the 97-99 prelude h22A with the jackson racing supercharger.

ya man, there is a guy here where I live that is trying to sell his supercharged lude. They are such nice cars.

And ya, he doesnt race that civic at all, its pretty much a trailer queen, it only has like 30,000kms and its a 99 or 00.

Well i was not bashing him or talking shit about his work. I was basically saying what it looks like. I know its the same bumper, thats why i said it looks a lot better on the pic u posted than the one on ur avatar.

The thing about the rear bumper was that because it sticks out too much. It was constructive criticism and not a high school bully talk.

Besides, as Hash mentioned, yeah i dont give a crap about your car or anyone elses cause it aint mine. but its the criticism you cant take cause some people here take things too personally. I just dont understand.

We have seen a lot of people do a lot of mods on their cars, Some of them looks like they been shot with loads of cocaine, and some of them look ingenious. I was just appreciating your originality and your hardwork but at the same time expressing some criticism as one of the people who look at your car. Thats the reason we post pictures of the car right? so people can look and see what we did?

Sorry if I hurt your feelings, cause it was not my intetion or neither it is. I was merely stating the fact that i believed what it was.

first of all it sticks out the same as the stock bumper if you observed the BEFORE and AFTER pics. all it is, is that it's lower hence give the car a lowered look. second, i don't think "looks like ass" is something called contructive criticism. and 3rd, no im not offended. i drive this car everyday and i know how it drives and looks. your comments dont mean anything and im not fishing for any compliments either. im just putting my pic up to show people that putting a bodykit on this car is not next to impossible cus it seems to be an undying topic that never really gets answered. pics are worth 1000 words right? there's a few questions answered right there then. like your momma always said "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all". peace.

What fenders did you use to convert to widebody? They look like EVO type fenders...are the chopped up OEM's or 'glass? I was considering going wide...need more traction for the B16.

If im not mistaken he did it all with fiberglass himself.

wow this is such an old thread from 4 yrs ago! but yeah, i fabricated the bodykit myself out of fiberglass back when i had alot of time to do all this stuff. last i left the car, it looks like how it is on my sig. i haven't really worked on it since. plenty of changes in life and other projects to take care of. 2 part time jobs and school full time at UTI. eventually though i will come back and finish the car. i still drive it from time to time. it's never really gonna end, it's an ongoing project for me. until it's as fast as how good it looks. someway somehow, i always find a way to change my car and my other project cars....lol.
