has anyone removed the chrome trim on the 88-89 hood grilles that can tell me what is behind that? mine has a small ding in it and i want it to be gone, as i am just painting the grille, eyebrows, and corners all aluminum so the grille will not be noticeable anyway, so i want it gone. but don't want to ruin my car's look by taking the trim off and having a big open gap there....thanks

There is a gap where the chrome piece covers. It will not look good if you remove that trim. The plastic grill has tabs that the chrome piece fits over so it would look bad besides the gap too. Just get a new piece for about 30 bucks.

I really like that look! I have a ACCORD bra on my car though so it covers it up anyway.

Hey did if you want to buy a grille from me you can I have a spare one from my 89 and its already packaged up and ready to go. $20 shipped is my price.

yeah, well, did he just completely cut out the plastic behind that trim? if so, i might try that, looks way better than stock, but still maintains stock look. its a great lookin mod cuz noone will notice it; and the best cosmetic mods are the ones u gotta point out, cuz they tie in so well ppl just aren't sure.....
