Are there any differences between the LX-i and the SE-i concerning the engine/mechanics? That being asked, what are the differences between the LX-i and the SE-i? Are there cosmetic differences? This has always confused me.
I apologise if this is in the wrong place.
Thanks,

...cosmetic...

not purely cosmetic. Don't forget about the 4 wheel discbrakes. As far as cosmetics go the Se-i had bronze tineted glass, leather, bose stereo system, console with armrest and cupholders, 14" alloy wheels. The SE-i's were also available in a a few different colors like Brittany Blue Metalic

So, basically there isn't too much different about the LX-i and SE-i. Am I correct in assuming that there was never an SE-i hatchback made? Somewhere I've heard that this combination was never created (maybe it was at the Honda dealership)... Thanks again!

...the leather guts were nice, I had one for a Demo when I sold Honda's...but that was nearly 15 years ago...memory is getting tired, but I dont think you could get one with a 5 speed transmission either...personally, I think the SEI, being a percursor to the 4g, was the best Accord ever made.

I'm thinking of purchasing an SE-i after I sell my present LX, but I really like the accord hatch. I dunno if this is Honda heresy but I may perhaps combine the two together and make a sort of hybrid accord... that would prove to be a great project. Has anyone on the boards ever done this? I would be interested to see how theirs turned out.

There is a sei coupe. And it can come with a 5 speed. There is one at the junkyard with perfect greay leather interior and it is sooo sweeeeeet.

Hybrid as in SE-i parts on a hatch?????? Theres quite a few of them out there. All you need is the rear brakes and the console and your half way there. Of course other than the front seats the interior won't swap over without alot of trouble.

I thought the fuel injection systems were different as well.... I thought SEI was PGM-FI and LXI was just FI

My LX-i is PGM-FI and is the original engine as far as I know.

Ok I wasn't sure on that one. Oh wait I know what I was thinking. It has a dual stage intake. And the LXI doesn't

no the 88-89's LX-i's have the dual stage as well. I believe the 86-87's are single stage
