ya so i was driving down this major street that runs through several towns and I come up on this 90-91 accord... It had a black exhaust and he was speeding a little so i was like shit let me smoke this guy right... (this isnt about racing I promise you) so I come up on him and gun it and just fly by him... so at the next light we end up side by side and launched at the light... well this guy had a good 2 car lengths or so before I even started to pan out with him... so I stoped next to him at the next light and I asked him what he had under the hood... well the guy said that he boared it out to a 2.6l... he regrinded his cams and had cam gear but still... can we do that conversion to our 3g's...?? I would love to have a 2.8l or something on top of a regrind and a webber... Thanks...

sounds like bs to me i could see maybe a 2.4liter max. and even after all that i dont think its possiable. the f22a is a slightly higher output stock so with some bolt ons and cams he should have had you no problem.

Nah, I read in SCC ( ) that some guy bored an H22a to 2.6L made gobs of torque. Well, for a Honda :D

you realize thats liek a 30% overbore !! thats alot of bore and hondas don't have much to give. not without new cylinder linners and resleeving of the block. i doubt it id bet on an h22 or a cammed up f22a. the f22a is a decnt running engine and come in at 2.2 liter so its got a slight TQ advantage over the a20a.

I read the same article, not sure if they said it was a h22a, h23a or the f series, but it was a honda engine and it is a reality. But I don't even want to think about price.;)

It was in the SCC august 2001 issue. It was an H22 and they bored it out so much the pistons almost touch it was also running very high octane gas because it had a 16:1 compression ratio. The all motor H22 boared out to 2600cc made 260 HP @ 8800 rpm to the wheels and over 200 lb-ft of torque.

sure it wasn't a bore/stroke combo??

pos, i guarantee it as a bore, stroke combo, they had to modify the crank to get an extra 400 cc's without striking good old geen stuff. im sure that they wouldnt just waste energy overboring when they could also gain displacement by altering stroke. whoever has the article could you plz check it and see exactly what they say, im not trying to be offensive tword anyne, just thats alot of boreing.

Any more than 2000 cc (you start with 1955) and you are pushing the block to its limits.

2.6's like to blow up, it's too much bore, if ur gonna focus on torque u shouldn't be driving a Honda. Hondas are good at top-end power.

I would have to disagree with you on that one. Granted honda's don't make 300ft/lbs. of torque but if you consider power per displacement they make more. B18C1 has 71.2ft/lbs. per liter compared to the ford 5.0 with 300ft/lbs. it has 60ft/lbs. per liter. Plus the horsepower per liter is even greater. So I guess it's all in the way you look at it. Think about it if honda were to make a 5.0 with the same power ratio as the B18C1 that motor would have 473 hp and 356 ft/lbs. that would be one hell of a motor.
