Sorry, I know this is a 3rd gen forum but I can't find a good 4th gen forum. Car is in excellent condition, looks to be well maintained as well. 5-speed, may need a clutch in the next year, one very minor spot of rust, slightly notchy shifting. Otherwise, car runs great.

Soooooooo, would you buy it?

damn, thats alot of miles on a 4th gen.
Is it notchy as in notchier than other 4th gens you have tried? If so the tranny might be going bad. You could always swap an H22a in that beast if the chassis isnt rusted out. :D

I haven't driven another 5 speed 4th gen in a while so I don't have anything to compare it to. It just kinda grabs when you shift it, not terribly noticeable though. What do you think you'd pay for it?????

$1800 doesnt sound outrageous, but there's nothing wrong with trying to get it down a little. 2dr or 4dr?

It's a white 4D LX with blue cloth interior. (no spoiler unfortunately) Interior and exterior are in excellent condition, last owner had it for like 8-9 years.

$1000, at most... $1200 if PERFECT... here, that car would fetch about $800, but cars like that are still rare to come by, i mean, cars that have been well taken care of (around here, people don't seem to take that into account)

Can you find the Kelly blue book value on it. www.kbb.com This will give you a good place to start, or find out the last available appraisal if its not listed. Check the paper classifieds for comparable cars and what are they listing for. But above all "REMEMBER THIS" Used cars are "AS IS" and unless you are a good judge of mechanical soundness of a vehicle, have it checked out. usually $50-$75 bucks can have this done. and our honda are not cheap to work on, so take that into consideration. And why is the seller, selling this car.
I check cars out for my neighbors all the time great for some quick cash, if we were in close distance of each other I'd do it for you. also remember you have to be comfortable with the person checking the car for you, cars can still go out the very next or even same day. I had a guy come back to me after I checked his ride for him telling me I was at fault for not telling him the Clutch was going out the following week and tried to get me to do it for half my going rate. He went to a dealership they replaced his clutch and a month later his rear main seal went because he didn't want to pay the extra $80 for them to do, this time he paid me my rate, bought balljoints, drive axle seals, new brakes and I only charged him a extra $50 :cool2: LOL
Hope this helps.

IMO, the 2 door does look good, but the 4 door with the spoiler is one of the better looking cars on the market, especially for the age. I'm also 29 years old (real old) and the ricer look just doesn't do it for me. The 4 door makes it easier for my dog to jump in and out of also, I do like the 2 door though.

Good price, but too many miles, not worth it imo.

4th gen 2 doors look like crap. Sedan is the best IMO. I would buy it if I was willing to take the risk of repairs, which I would be.

i think personally that pretty much all of the 4th and 5th gen trannies feel notchy... when mine started to get real pickey and not want to go in/out of gears my clutch slave was leaking... and still is. With F22 powered cars, oil consumption is the name of the game. My 95 lx that i just got has 120k miles on it, doesnt smoke but seems to go through oil at about a quart every 300miles... if it keeps it up i might need a new engine soon.

it depends, if you just wanna get around and have a nice car, 4th gens are fine. I think there is more fun to be had in 3rd and 5th gens personally, all the 4th gens ive been in have been slow but they dont turn corners as well as a 3rd or 5th gen, and they have slow numb steering esp compared to 5th gen... drive a 4th gen and then a 5th gen... youll notice it.

You might as well give me $1,800 and i'll kick you in the ass, and we'll call it even. Just kidding.......that's not too much, I paid $2,500 for my 3gee with 222,000 miles on it. I would get it, if it drove half decent.

MrBen

Hell I paid $1,900 for my 3g with 220,000 miles on it. Go for it.

Around here that would be a great price. 4th gens don't go for under $3000 regardless of mileage unless they are really, really beat up.
The shifter in my car feels notchy too. I really don't like that part of the car.

Don't worry Ben I got your back! I like the 4th gen sedans better too. Maybe that's b/c I own one.

Considering it's a late model 4th gen and the body seems to be in good shape, considering the shape of the interior, I would walk up to that guy w/ $1200 cash in hand and make him an offer. You also have the option of later dropping $1500-$2000 on the good 'ol H22 swap! :cool2:

This is a search for 92 and 93 Accords in my area. Check out our car prices. You must remember that we have cars with no rust at all because they don't use salts around here and our economy is one of the best in the country. We have the second highest minimum wage. But with a lowest price of $2995 here and a highest price of over $8000, $1800 sounds like a great deal to me.

hey i would take one they are the one that look almost like our cars expt that they are more sleek and less angles....also they got most aftermarket support cuz everything you want somehing they always start from 90-93 and up. but hey i still like my 3gee my mom paid 17k and it came with 12 miles... proud owner of my car

Why is all the 3gee luck on the eastern part of the US????????

how did you pay $100 for your LX?

It's all rust. Northern cars are rusty, they might drive ok, but there's usually more work to do on them.

well, I bought the car from my boss, and it was given to him. And yeah, cars are much cheaper here because they salt the crap out of the roads and cars rust out much faster. However, mine has relatively little rust. Right on the back of the inside of the rear wheel wells, and that's pretty much it. The little brackets that hold my rear bumper on don't have alot of support, but I'm going to fix that. I've looked this car over pretty thouroughly, and that is about the only rust I've been able to find. I got lucky.....my boss didn't want to mess with it too much, and all that was really keeping it from running decent when he sold it to me was the fact that the choke spring got disconnected from the choke linkage. I got it home, hooked up the choke linkage, and the car ran pretty nice. I gotta rebuild the carb because the idle is erratic, and probably replace the thermovalve and vacuum lines as well, but it is a daily driver, and if you look at my garage, the car looks darn decent for 100 bucks.
