i'm worried cause this is the first time this happened.
on my c ar regardless if it's hot or cold, i open the oil cap while the engine is running, while the valve's and such are opening, u can smell the oil, it smell's like smelly arm pit's.
any idea's

lo, lol, no . . . . . oil, with a faint smell of gas.
so i take it from u ,lol , that the smell is fine then.
2 b honest, my oil plug leak's so by the time most of my oil leak it'll b lo.
so i get some penzoil synthetic and put it in.
so i have'nt changed my oil.
that's why i'm asking this stupid ass question.

if you smell oil and it has gas smell to it, you have major problem.
it is better for oil to smell like oil and not anything else.
you may want to change your oil ones in a while, even if you have oil leak.
i wouldn't use synthetic oil. the last time i used it on my engine it started to smoke like hell. synthetic oil is for new motors or rebuild ones.

My oil generally smells of exhaust gas. Not a strong smell, but noticeable. Come to think of it, all used motor oil smells that way. BTW, this is regardless of where I am smelling it (valve cover, drain pan, etc.) The arm pit comparison was pretty interesting :), how did you verify that? :)

lol, well it took me back 2 high school where this kid smelled like that, i felt sorry 4 him sometime's cause other kid's would make fun. but when i opened the cap i smell it, i was like shit. my brother was like . . . .
it does'nt smell like gas that much it's only a very faint smell, last time it was the pcv, and filter.
