I've been mostly quiet for the past months but I do read the board from time to time. I noticed that alot of people are looking for B20A parts in the US. Since I'm rebuilding my B20A and I've been scavenging for parts here, I decided to make a list of parts available in North America

Those parts can be taken from another Honda car and fit our B20A. The list is small for now but expect it to grow.

If you have any part that you are SURE will fit the B20A, just post it here and I will add it to the list.

Here is the list:

Thats a good list i will see what i can pull up to add to that. I would just correct the years on the Flywheel/clutch because we know the 90-91 B20A5 had a larger flywheel and thus thats why they hit the bell housing. And the only other thing at the end of the list it said B20A3 when you meant B20A5. I thank you very much for all the help you have given me and others cause it has brought out a lot of options for the B20A. I mean im using the JDM stuff but least if i get in a jam i could get a part quickly.

So far off the top of my head my only contribution to the list will be ARP Rod bolts, exh studs, head studs. I will post the part numbers later. Im working on a cometic head gasket and a LSD but im sure the LSD will be put off to the last minute because of the cost. H23 Rods are said to be the same but i read up on a prelude forum and it went back and forth so i will be the test dummy for this i guess but this is using B20A5 pistons. I know it was said to be a sure fit but there were some discussions that show it needs modification but im going to get them and try it in the next few months.

Thats a good list carot. I will certainly be checking that out if i ever want to do the B20 swap. Thanks!

I was correct on the B20A3... the water pump for the B20A is different from the B20A5... it's actually the same as a Prelude S.

For the H23 rods... I looked at the part number for aftermarket rods and they were the same (don't remember the brand) They listed the specs and everything matched

here are the part number for the rods
13210-PK2-000 (B20A5)
13210-PT3-A00 (H23A1)

(you're right on the flywheel/clutch, It's fixed now)

Any of you guys notice that the JDM camshaft is the same a a B18A????? L3G10N got it measured and the guy said the specs are the S-A-M-E

You mean the physical dimensions like length, bearings, etc... or specs like lift, duration, lobe sep, etc...? or both, as in EXACTLY the same?

Also, while I am thinking about it, what about ITR pistons? I remember reading somewhere Carotman that you were going to use them. Is that true? If so, do you know what it takes to make them fit?

Yeah that is nice if the B18A cams fit cause then we can get real cams instead of re-grinds. Well for the waterpump i was thinking of how Yasu has it with the B20A5 sproket and cam gears. Also on the rods i know exactly what your talking about but the company doesnt guarantee a direct fit they only said the length i think was the same. But i think i will go for it and see what happens.

Greg the pistons were used by AccordSi and they were CTR but they do require machine work.

Here are the part numbers for the ARP stuff.

QTY 8 ATP6.350-1LUB VR6 Head stud
QTY 2 ATP8.0001LUB Acura B18A1 Long stud
QTY 10 APN12-1 Nuts
QTY 10 APW1316N Washers
Rod Bolts ARP-208-6401 (requires machine work)
Exh Studs ARP-400-8024

Yes, the pistons DO require some machine work. that's why I didn't list them (I mostly concentrated on direct swapable stuff)

For the cams, the guy mentionned they were the same and offered some of his B18A cams... I'll double check with L3G10N to make sure

Anyone knows if the B20A5 valve cover gasket will fit?

If i remeber right it did and so did the 90-93 non-vtec integra did also.
Also 90-93 teg wire for the non-vtec fit.

Last time I checked the wires they were a bit too long (maybe because they were aftermarket) The part that was too long was the connector going on the sparkplug. it was like 2mm too long and I guessed wouldn't seal on the valve cover properly. Anyone tried them on the engine?

I now those would work with the JDM distributor or the 86-87 Teg dist.

Regarding the cams, in this thread: http://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?t=20735
Accordsi states that B18 cams do fit with slight machining.

I contacted these folks: http://210.150.108.106/~spiosk/parts/e-info.htm regarding upper and lower end gasket kits. I sent them the part numbers and this is the response I got:

Hello!! Gregg Stults.
The part numbers are:
061A1-PH3-000 16000
061B1-PH3-000 Production end
-- SPI <[email protected]>

I am assuming they are saying 16,000 Yen, which would be about $150. It's a bit troubling that the bottom end gasket kit is discontinued. Perhaps our efforts to cross reference these seals and gaskets will become more important. I am most concerned about the oil pan gasket, since AFAIK, no one has found a USDM match.

Rob, how are you finding part numbers? Do you have a book with them?

Many Honda engines use the 80x100x10 pattern

The one I have here is 91214-PH1-004 and is the same thing.

For the oil pan gasket, I'm sure we can find aftermarket replacements in Europe easily (if not the original one)

You can always use that stuff to create an oil pan gasket... I heard it works well.

How about exhaust manifolds? Does a manifold from the A20Ax fit?

About the cam, as Carot wrote, the cam from the b18 non-vtec are the same as the b20a jdm. I got it measured and the guy said the specs are the exactly the same as the b18 cam. I trust this guy and i'm sure Carot too.

About the exaust manifold. I've checked with the b20a5 and he's not the same but can be fitted with some modification. Same thing for the gasket.

Well, since you're in Europe, you have access to the B20A original parts. I'm sure you can find them.

If you're looking for a performance header, DC sports and PAcesetter (some other companies too) make them for the 88-91 Prelude (I don't know the engine number in Europe).

A slight mod will make them fit nice :)

Hi, everybody.

i just want to say that H23A1 rods are not the same as B20A.
The length of rod, for B20A is 142.75mm, but for H23A1 is 141.5mm........both engines have 95mm stroke but different bore, 81mm for B20A, 87mm for H23A1................
........the rod/stroke ratio is 1.50 for B20A and 1.49 for H23A1 ( B16A1: 1.74=PERFECT, B17A:1.68, B18C1: 1.58)
I AGREE THAT THE MAJORITY OF B20A5 PARTS COULD BE USED FOR B20A.
Also, we could use B18A1 exhaust valves (28mm) for B20A, but not the intake valves from B18A1 ( 31mm, B20A:33mm)

MANY THANKS TO CAROTMAN FOR THE LIST
HELPS A LOT
jdm B20A ENGINE IS FANTASTIC FOR ACCORD 3G WITH A LOT OF POWER 160hp/6000rpm, 19.5kg.m/5000rpm...................TO COMPARE, THE 16 YEARS YOUNGER AND MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE ( OVER $5000) I-VTEC K20 (RSX) HAS 197hp/7400rpm, 20.1kg.m/5400rpm WITH 11:1 C/R......................B20A JUST 9.5:1

Hey Lok thanks for the valve information i was going to send mine out to a specialty shop to have them do my entire head but maybe now i will just pick up the valves and have my machine ship do it. I was under the assumption that the B18A1 valves might fit but i didnt want to waste any time or money finding some. But i did want a oversize valve since im running boost so i might get a 2nd opinion before i jump on this.
