I read on this site that you can do a 3Gee to 4Gee alternator conversion!

The reason is that the 4Gee alternator pumps out more juice!

How do I do this swap on my A20A4 Prelude engine? What alternator do I ask for when I'm buying one? How big does the new belt have to be?

I tried it but the harness was different.
I have a carb and it has one less wire on the harness than the LXi and the 4th gen had.
The alternators were physically the same size and mounted the same way.
The pullies were the same width so the same belt will work.
One pully was slightly larger than the other but I don't remember witch was witch.
If I were you I sould go with the smaller pully so it spins faster.
Your best bet is to take it in to the parts store so you can do a side by side comparison.

I may have to get a connector and make my own piece of wiring.

I can take the pully off my alternator and put it on the 4Gee one...if it will fit!

As long as I dont have to make a new bracket for it..its not worth that much to me....I will try this when I have my engine out in the spring and see if I can make something work!

Find out what the extra wire is for, and purhaps wire it up yourself :-) Shouldn't be difficult at all, go find an old car and cut the harness of of it and wire it up to your new car.
