Anybody body know if an 89 fuel pump will fit right in place of a stock 87 fuel pump - like does it mount the exact same or does the newer pump fit in differently into the carbed tank ?

Also I know there is a couple people who have used there stock fuel tanks in the conversion to efi, How did you do this - how did you run the return line into the tank ? did you make a hole in the tank !

Please Help - this would help greatly because I planned on doing this, this weekend. I'm gonna stick with the stock tank for now if I can.(till I get some extra $ )

If someone can give some tips, or even just let me know that this has been done before ? Thanks alott:flash:

Sure does carb has about 8psi - I believe efi is around 30psi
Thats why I am curious how you can use the carb tank also the extra line:confused:

If your converting to efi, you need to swap tanks to an efi tank, the channels inside the tank are different and I think the whole pump assembly is different.

the carbed tank can be used but your car might lean out on fuel if the level goes below 1/4 and you go in a curve for a long time...

Other than that the pumps are almost the same

CORRECTION
for the carb settings: 2.6 and 3.3psi
fuel injected settings:
85-87 accord the pressure should be 33-39psi
88-91 accord 36-41 psi.

well maybe that was part of my problem becasue my carb setup was pushin 6-8 psi
and I have never even checked the stats on the efi press. I was just going by what I know - I had to change my dodge colts pump and it was around 30 psi so I was just estimating ya know !:p

I wonder why the 88-89 has more pressure ?

It makes 10 hp more, due to compression and the intake valving.
