ok i have read almost every post on the speaker size in our cars and none gives me a staright answer.....i have a 2dr 88 lxi what size are the rea speakers exactly?

Why don't you look? Honestly I don't know why people ask when all they have to do is pull out a ruler. If you don't have a speaker, then measure the hole.

6.5" if i'm not mistaken. they are the same size as the doors. but i'm not 100% sure.

I was not being an ass. If you want a straightforward answer, get it yourself... the sizes of the speakers in 3g's vary for many reasons... it is just better to measure yourself and know for sure.

I dont know about your's but I had so called 6.5" in the front, which were actually 3" speakers in a small bandpass enclosure, stupid bose, and I have 6 x 9" in the rear.

A 1988 LXi coupe would have 6x9 speakers in the back. This can be changed by getting the appropriate speaker housings from a DX/LX which came stock with 6.5 speakers in back.

if they are an oval shape then they are 6x9 and if they are round then they are 6.5" that is for sure the sizes they could be, my lxi has 6x9's in the rear

yeah just a bracket to make a smalller size fit from sounddomain.com or a local stereo shop prob even best buy
