Popping sound in front end

I have a poppping sound in my passenger side front end when i turn sharply or alot....it sounds as if something is popping in and out of place...i havent looked into it yet but any advice????

sounds like the cv joint ,not sure if you have to change the whole axle or if you can change just the cv joint i know some cars you need to replace the whole axle,haven't had one go bad on my accord yet. :bong:

Whole axle..If you find the right place...It's not to much...Last July I replaced my pass. side...$90 for the axle...got $45 back when I took the core in...N this it's pretty nice + Life time gaurantee...I just have to take it to them... After this winter in NE, I have to replace my driver side axle.... N the place I got the other one is in VA....I don't think I'll find deal like that around here though....Plus I have to wait till all the snow melts cause I don't have a garage :burn:This is HOW (http://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?t=28515&highlight=cv+axle) to replace the axle... It's relatively easy and don't take ALL day....

if it is the axle...what are the chance of it snapping anytime soon? i just drove my car and its sort of a popping but moe of a thunking sound....any idea if this could be diffrent?

How long have you noticed the noise?....I drove mine for about a month after it started....You'll know when it starts getting bad... The noise will become constant instead of just when you turn.... Check the boot though...if it's completely split all the way around... I wouldn't wait long... And keep away from gravel and dirt roads, and puddles if possible... Those will definately mess it up faster....

it has only been happening for about a week...im gonna go look at it right now though and if i see anything out of the ordinary...ill post it...i dont know much about this stuff and im tryin to learn

I have a "pop" or "crack" sound coming from the passenger front also. It did not change after replacing both axles which I did just because one of the outer boots split open and these were original axles with over 200K miles on them.

It has been checked by a very good Honda mechanic, too, and he can't find anything wrong with the front end. It is quite an elusive problem, indeed.

It's not causing any problems and it has been doung this for quite a long time. I don't hear it with the windows up. I just find it annoying that I can't fix it!!

I drove for a good three months on a bad axle, when we pulled the caliper assembly back and started to remove the half shaft it just fell apart, the guy at checker didnt believe it was still running, the Spider fell out of the the cover it goes into.

$75 for the axle
-$20 For core return..
