Do our engines run the opposite direction that most other engines do? I noticed most other engines have the exhaust by the firewall and are on the opposite side of the car from ours. Does this mean it would be impossible to swap a General Motors 2.3 L quad 4. They were rated at 180hp and it looks like it would be easy to tune. I was looking at one and it looks like it would fit in an accord if i could have mounts built for it and driveaxles. I know people complained about durability but I had a Chevrolet Beretta with a quad 4 and i drove it for 231,000 miles and only replaced the lifters.

OMG im gonna seriously hold back on this one.

Just get a turbo, it would be easier and faster in the end.

No im just saying if it would fit the GM quad 4 would be a better engine than the B20A since it makes more torque and had 180hp.

More power doesn't mean it's better. You've got to think reliability and time and money spent to get it in.

Alright I will break it to him. Our Honda Motors rotate counter clockwise. Opposite to any American motors. And you have a lot to learn young grasshopper.

plus the "quad 4" engine's were problematic, so why do that.
iused to have a beretta gt w/ ground effects 3100v6 and it gave me more prob's than my honda's put together.

probably because it was a clunky pushrod pile of shit. you're not talking about the same motor at all.

GM is putting Honda 3.5 liter V6s in the top of the line Saturn SUV. Is that Kosher?

No but I guess it's a way for Honda to make more money and for GM to have a good engine.

the quad 4 was a bad engine. although it DID make decent power. I give GM kudos for realizing a solid built engine and using it in their vehichles. Who cares if its not their engine...how many other manufacturers have done that over the years?! ford->yamaha is one i can think of. plymouth->mitsu. is another. ohya, and even some gm engines arn't that bad. i would put a L36(3800) against an a20 anyday.

Damn right. I work at a Saturn Dealer, and that 3.5L moves! even for a small SUV. I beleive the 3.5 is what is in the Pilot and that's much bigger. So for an Element sized small SUV to have a big motor in it is fun.... plus AWD and being under 27K top of the line RedLine model, helps too.

The RedLine has sport tuned suspension, big mouth front bumper, big body rear bumper and low side skirts plus factory white faced gauges.
