sorry to blow you buble, but AEM doesn't make air intake for our cars. the only thing they make is adjustible fuel pressure regulator. it is the one in the picture.

i have never seen AEM cold air intake made for our cars.
i know some people bought AEM air intakes made for other models and adapted them.
the best bet would be to call AEM and ask them.

yea the only Brand name intake ive ever seen has been the weapon R

Are the Weapon R intakes CARB legal in California? I know that if there was an AEM one for the lx-i, it would be, but I don't know if Weapon R ones are. That would be a major plus for an AEM intake if it actually exists for an lx-i. I'd be willing to pay the extra $100 or so for an AEM to not get a $300 dollar ticket and have to go through the hassle of dealing with the smog board people again.

Just call Weapon-R and have your receipt handy.... but it should come with a CARB sticker nowadays... yes, the dragon's are CARB certified.

does it really matter what brand the intake is? i mean its a just a pipe wihta filter on the end, there really all the same, i laugh at people that buy 300 doller intakes, when u can get them form 20-50 bucks!

Well, One) the Weapon-R is a Short Ram intake and the AEM we are talking about is a Cold Air Intake, big difference. and Two) yes, different brands can make differences in the power-band, how much hp gain, and looks. Each company has it's own policy of the intake material and how it bends is what makes the differences.

1. yes u can get cheap coild air intakes for 50 bucks , 2 there all mandrel bent and made out of stainless steel or alluminum. and do looks really matter at all how a intake looks? no it doesnt.

brand name intakes are all made different. especially the filtr. it has been dyno proven that different hp gains have been made from different intakes.

A CAI is a CAI intake...no point in paying more $$$ for the same thing...plus what's a couple hp differance....our cars are slow as piss to begin with....even with mods.. :)

Unfortunately,I agree w/ BITESIZE in that there is no sense in paying 300+$$ for a cai when u can make your own and get damn near the same results.I made mine from aluminized steel exhaust tubing that I got from the guy who did my Exhaust system. He gave it to me for FREE!He also threw in the vel;ocity stack fliter(S&B) and I work @ Home Depot where I got the couplers.MY total cost was about $8!!and that inclides the ceramic paint!I dunno what the hp gains are but I definately notice the difference especially in the 3600-5000rpm range.I will post pics of my new exhaust, cai and speedo @ 130mph as soon as I get them back.BTW I followed the "how to" on making aN AEM CAI.

thankyou bitesize and mattalica! its just mandrel bent metel pipe! you cant screw it up! only thing that differs from intake- to intake is the filter!

I think piss is slightly faster than a 3G Accord. :D You're right, an intake is just an intake and I think it is pointless to spend a lot of money for something that you can get for a lot cheaper on ebay. :D

Ok-i love having like 10 subjects just about intakes!! Get a Cold air intake from a 94 accord. Move the battery and make hole in fender bigger and your all set!! DAMN-Those intakes from weapon are pointless. So are all short ram intakes-GET A COLD AIR!!!

An AEM intake off of a 94-97 accord and about the same year prelude fits w/ only having to turn the batt sideways. I have the one off a 90 something prelude (the shorter car) I dont know what year that body style is. but it fits and looks good.
