O.K. I've searched plenty and really haven't come up with much...I know Dc made them...good luck finding one... so my question is......

Has anyone tried to make a front strut bar from another car? I heard the 90+ accord won't work.

Make one. Test fit a civic bar and drill your own holes. I know there was a how-to on this site somewhere.

From my searching the civic bar will not work....

i think it depends on how much work you want to do. Im seriously thinking of just shelling out the 25 bucks for front and rears from a 92 civic and seeing how much work it'll need. If worse comes to worse, i'll just sell em to my buddy who has a civic like that.

DC still makes them, but they'll cost you an arm and a leg. I wish i had bought Alex's off him before he sold his 3g.

I don't care how much work it will take, because I'm good at working with my hands and stuff like that.....but if i have to get more parts fack that!

if you've got a few extra bux, get a 92 civic front bar off ebay and maybe even a 4g and see if they'll fit.

I don't want to waste alot of money if they won't work. I'm sure someone has to have tried something and gotten it to work.

I thought i heard back a little while ago that a civic bar and newer accord round parts that bolt to the frame will work if you put them together.

im making my own.. single bar across, then a V from the intake manifold to the firewall...

maybe even somthing from the subframe to the body...

i had one on my fiesta that was super simple, yet strong as hell and looked good.

It was a 3/4" pip that was bent to angle toward the firewall (it actually rested against the firewall) and had two C shaped pieces at the end to bolt it to the strut towers. I just wish i had access to a pipe bender and a welder so i could make one.

Is where I got mine, paid $140 or so if I remember right, it was the cheapest I could find. I just didn't have the time to try and put one together.
Hope this helps.

I have the Civic bar and some people have got it tp fit but what what I have seen it is a miracle they got it on and it works. On the cheap bars they have a bolt threaded at each end, if you could find some longer ones with the fish eye the civic bar would work and be realible cause as is that bolt is only threaded one turn into the bar, which means it is EASY for it to come out. Also I guy was able to get a 94 teg bar to work but I'm not sure how hard it was.

Why can't you find any DC Sports strut bars??? They still make them and you can get them from nopi.com and a few other online places, and I'm sure you can call DC Sports and order from them... I got one over the summer from a local shop and it ran $150 and fits absolutely perfect...

something is wrong with the damn SEARCH, I can't find that thread about the teg bar. But when I was looking I guess CIVIC 1992-200, DEL SOL 1993-1997, INTEGRA 1994-2001 all use the same bar. :pissed: I also found that if you use the APC civic/teg brackets with a APC 4g accord bar it will work.

$150 is a bit much for a strut bar IMO when you can get em for any other car for less then half that......

I paid $40-50 bucks for the one I used.

I think he used one for a civic and modified it to fit by drilling an extra hole in each mount. I found my dc bar for $35 on ebay.

Have a header, custom 2.25 Exhaust. Not many headers available for our cars. Gotta jump on it , I guess.

Colt cams make cams for us. Gears that is. Cam grinds aren't really good anyways. Bad for your engine.

Yea yet is the key word there. If some people will send in some money for the gears we allmost have enough for the 25 gears. Take a look at the thread, I made a list.

I did.. You should send money as well, maybe some will follow your lead.

cam gears are a waste of money unless you have a good amount of other work done to the ignition too and access to a mechanic who's good at ignition timing. Or you're planning on doing that kind of upgrade in the future.

actually has more to do when you have a change in compression, but ok! There plenty of cars our there runing good times with STOCK Honda ignition.

Go with DC if you want the DC strut bar... but there are cheaper alternatives.

I am in the planning and measurement phaze of making a strut bar for the front of my car, just don't know where I want it yet. Im trying to think of a way to get around that carb air box and brace it down in a H form. Might have to drill into the body and bolt it down, but still looking at the issues of it. Once I get it done, I will make lots of them for our cars (if they are all the same dimensions) and the rear ones too. either that or since I am still working on a how to, you can follow that and do it yourself. Better than paying $150+ for one that doesn't fit. It only costed me $20 to do mine, had access to tools at my high school auto shop class (grad in 98). Once I have the front planned out, I will start building it afterwards. But for now, still pondering on the front brace (not at the towers).

If there was anyone who lived by Sunnyvale in California, I could use some help on the decision making on the damn thing.

true but most of the people that want to buy one, they are all planing on doing some good mods in the future. I know I don't need one right now but when I slap on a turbo in a couple years I will need it.

Doesn't openloop make a cam gear? I'm pretty sure k-mods does. The bar I used was a 92 civic apc strut bar it has threaded ends the only "custom" mods required to make it fit is a single hole drilled in each side of the mounting brackets.

For about $150.00 you can buy a piece of billet aluminum and have it machined to the right size and bolt pattern! that is if u can find a good machine shop!!!! Lots of good shops in western N.C.

I got a DC one already in the front. i just one in the back. so i might have to weld some to get this 93 civic strut bar to fit my back? why i can just drill some holes an shit. that wouldnt work

Justin86

Well how much work does it require to get the 4G to work. From what I have seen they are not long enough.

trust me, they are long enough. I've bought 2 reative 90-93 accord strut bar Front/Rear. I'll try to take some pics as soon as possible. Or send me a great pic of a 4th gen strut bar and i'll show you where you'll need to modify.
