Don't waste your time with the B20A5, just get another a20a3.

The B20a5 Will Not Work!!! Without Alot Of Work!

the CRV is NOT a direct bolt in. The only b20 is the JDM 3rd Gen accord motor which IS NOT THE SAME as the prelude b20, or crv b20.....do some reading about the b20's and you'll learn about em. www.osakajdmmotors.com carries the 3rd gen accord b20's and they sell them for $400 but they dont have trannies which will be REALLY hard to find. Also, getting just about any part for those motors is a major pain in the ass.

Your best bet is to get a new a20a3 motor. If you want power, just go turbo.

this just makes my prolem worse... lol ok there are like 3 jdm accord b20's. 400 bux is a sweet price for an engine.. the tranny is hard to find you say? is there any one i can message privately with the b20a swap?an ask them about how they got the tranny?

then again... seans turbo kit is the god of all a20 mods. i think if i got a nice a20a3 or even a4 id be damned if i didnt do the turbo upgrade later

openloop motorsports had b20's and tranny's. carotman and robt5580 are the b20 guys to talk to. They've been doing a lot of research about parts and stuff. If you decide to go that route, one of them could help you out.

I'd suggest going turbo if anything. It will be a LOT less of a hassle. And will probably save you a bunch of money in the long run.

Man if the CRV engine was a direct swap I would have had one years ago.

I did a LOT of searching for B20A's and 5 speeds and had very little luck. I found a B20A with an auto and got the 5 speed from Openloop Motorsports but I think it was the last 5 speed available in America! I spent a lot of time contacting places all over the US that sell JDM motors and had no luck. Honestly, I don't think it's worth the hassle to find a B20A unless you get lucky. The only options I would consider now are: building the A20 up or getting a cheap B16 swap. B16's are easy to find and all the pieces you need to swap them into a 3G are reasonably available.

ok b20's seem like they are way to hard to find, what about astronger a20? like an a20a4? do they make a5? if so are they hard to find aswell?

all A20Ax are the same when it comes to strength.
i don't see why would some one pay $700 for a head gasket replacement.
you can get headgasket set on ebay for $50. spend about a day tearing the engine, take the head to the machine shop for any warpage check. put it all back together in one day and you set to go.

if you are thinking that swaping engine will cost you less, you are wrong my friend. it may end up costing you 5 times more what you thought it would. Plus sometimes if job was done by someone and they screw up you will end up with a lot of problems.

in the end, if you don't know anything about cars you better junk the car you have now and get new one.

if you are going to spend $3K on A20Ax enigne swap, i would say get nother accord. they are cheap, and for $3k you can get a very nice one.

A20Ax are not the same strenght. carb and Efi are different when it comes to power. I've got A20A1 it isa about 98HP or 102HP.
A20A3 EFI are about 116HP. Sorry if I understood You wrong.
But I think that the difference is in head and a carburator or efi.
probably nice effects when using weber or some of Dellortos,
Ive killed my head, and changed engine for a20a2.
engine block, head, is the same, different are intake and header... no lambda :) but u can use Your old one.

about head gasket, Ive changed mine one week ago, I lost about 6 hours on it. But there where two of Us, but the cost are like new Head gasket, 40$.
700$ it is cost of an engine itself and a putting it on a tranny.

I would swap a b20 from euro accord 3g. it should be about 135HP, but it is all I would probably get if I buy a whole accord sedan :))) couse Ive got and love aerodeck :)))
Hey, do You Gus have aerodeck 3g in USA ? You got hatchback, and coupe, but I dont see pictures of aerodecks...

one more thing. If U dont know anything about cars, start to learn :)
Good luck.
