Hey guys, I just went to check my car's vin # at carfax, and it says my car is an 87, but the tail light part that I ordered was for an 87 but didn't fit. I needed an 86 tail light, and it fitted perfect like its supposed to. what is the possibility of a major error of that kind???

Also when I went to get a new clutch about a year or so ago, on the record paper it said 86, but it said fuel injection. Is the flywheel and clutch the same type on both FI and carb or no??? if not I got the wrong clutch on.

I think there is something royaly wrong with this picture. HELP!!!

86 and 87 have the same tail lights. I think the use the same fly wheel and clutch but I am not positive

well I dont knw about the tail light thing cause he ordered a 87 and it didn't fit so I had to wait a week wit that part on my car until the 86 came in.

Well at least you tried to tell about the flywheel and the clutch, but still doesn't help much. Anyone know about this, I really need to know before I go get another one installed.

Flywheel on FI is different than Carb. Balance points differ.

86 lights are exactly the same as 87.

ohhh, balance points are diff on every flywheel. they are there to balance the flywheel. it is the same principle as you balance your tires.
the flywheels and clutches are the same.
