retarded speedo

my speedo is not working!!?!?!?!!!?! it will work for 2 sec then stop!?!?! can anyone help me?!?!?! :help:

hmm well please be a little more desciptive if you want help

2 seconds after your car starts? 2 seconds of movement? what happens when it "stops working"? do all the other gauges work? does it add miles to your mileage gauge when you drive still?

everything else works if they didnt i would say so. it comes on every now and then then stops what else can i say, works when it feels like it. works as in actually show me how fast im going then drop and not move... i had the same thing happen to my 1gen teg there was a plug that came out when they did the cluch but anyways does anyone know where that wire is??????? or what else it might be...

Sounds like your speedo cable has popped lose at the transmission, it's near the backside on top of the tranny case, you cant miss it. Just try to pull it up to see if the clip holding it in is still there, if the cable doesnt pull up, the it's going to be in the instrument cluster.
