This isnt the first time we've had this problem, and it probably wont be the last. The car is an 89 accord lx, 4 door, automatic.
The car shakes when you take off in D3 or D4 as it is trying to go into 2nd gear. However, when you leave it in 2 and shift it yourself, it doesnt shake. It shook all the time, even in 2 until we changed the front motor mount. Now, my girl takes it to the shop to get it checked out.
they say it is a fucked tranny. cost of rebuild is $1497.18. fuck that right? i mean, whats wrong here, and should it cost that much to rebuild a trans? is it even the transmission thats fucked? some people have suggest the trans mount as well as the rear motor mount. Any ideas?

have you replaced your axles. Could be bad cv joints. Mine shook in 2nd when I accelerated until I replaced the axles.

i thought it might be a tranny mount, where exactly is it? i need to get a haynes manual, but she is too cheap to buy one. and the cv joints just got replaced less than a year ago.
