ok first of all my a/c dosent work and i live in newhampshire so i realy dont need it planning on taking it out. do i still need to hook up my a/c idel boost control does it also boost for the heater and headlights? if so what should i do about the black box in the fender? how do i hook up the idle boost controler? i know i still have the large mani port hole on the driver side every thing else is hooked to the other 2 vac ports on the manifold and i just have it pluged for now so can i use that port to hook up idle boost and cruise?i also wanted to say that i removed a diapghram from the lower right side of the carb the one that conects to the stop screw thats on the throttles end i left the stop screw. was that a bad idea? the way kroy did it was he pluged the vac ports on the piece but i decided i would like to be able to get to the a/f screw on the back of the carb.also last but not least should any of the vacports on the original air cleaner lid be hooked to a vacume line or just plug them all? sorry for all the jabbering but i want my ride to be nice and this site is gonna help me and a lot of others get there.

No you do not need the idle boost valve withoug AC.
The heater, wipers and popups are all electric so there is no vacuum involved.
The black box on the passanger side can go in the trash.
Plugging the larger vacuum pickup on the manifold is the right thing to do.
I left my diafram on the carb out of pure laziness, I should take it off at some point.
All the crap on the original air intake should be plugged, except the one to the valve cleaner.
Looks like you are going the right direction. Next I can show you how to disable the EGR and the Air suction valve.
Oh man I hope you don't have emissions testing. I can not even imagine having to redo all that, I threw most of the crap away.

cool thanks kroy.fourtanately for me i live in new hampshire =no emmisions testing awsome the car runs so good now but i am still having a hesitation if i push the accelerator a little to hard from a low rpm.any ideas?also whats the deal with the egr valve and air suction valve what are the benifits of dis abling them. holla back

The EGR is exaughst gas recirculation. It takes exaughst gasses and pumps them bach through the intake manifold. It lowers the oxygen content of the incoming air, meaning less efficient combustion in the head.
The Air suction uses the exaughst air to create a vacuum source. It saves the engine from having all the vacuum needed to be taken from the intake. Since you removed the extra emissions hoses you don't need this anymore.
If you look at the passanger side of the exaughst manifold you will see two metal tubes coming out.
The EGR pipe runs to the side of the intake manifold. You can remove it and cap off BOTH ends with bolts.
The Air suction pipe runs to a box that runs along the backside of the valve cover.
You can remove the hose and everything connected to it, be sure to cap it off on the exaughst manifold.
I am lazy and did not search too much for bolts to cap them off. So I cut the ends of the tubes, bent them back, and welded them shut. Sure it looks ghetto but it works.
here is my exaughst manifold

You can leave the egr Valve in place, you can see it in the top center of the above pic, its held in by 2 10mm bolts. If you want to remove it completly you need to cut a metal plate and make a gasket to seal it. Once again I am lazy so it stays in place. One of these days I might track down a few bolts and make a plate, but for now it works fine.
The manifold bolts are a real bitch to take out, I removed my radiator and fans just to get enough clearance to reach it.
Another significant thing you can do iN remove the catalytic convertor. Then replace it with a strait pipe. The cat adds backpressure and restricts exaughst flow.
Since you sill have some lag off the line I would say get a strait pipe for the cat ang rig up a new intake. If you search around for "Civic Airbox" you can see what I have.

yeah the cat removal is a must and i need a new muffler any way.so without vacume to the egr is it still screwing with the cumbustion?

If the vacuum line from the EGR is disconnected it should not be a problem. I like my way, no chance of it ever working. I filled in the bottom of the valve with metal putty. If your Valve is stuck open it can still flow through.
My next anti enviromental project is disabling the PCV system. I need to figure out a way to vent it.
