I have been looking all afternoon for info on rebuilding the disty on my carbed 87 2.0 Accord engine.
I have found posts where it has been done, but cannot find any real info.
Does anyone have part numbers for bearings and seals? Or info on rebuild kits?
I believe that the bearing and seal is totally shot . There is a red oily mess inside the disty cap, and the rotor shaft shakes side to side about 3/32 ".
Thanx.
Dale

Dude as far as I know there is not a rebuild kit at all for the distributor!I went to Kragen the other day and asked them. They couldn't find one in their computer system so they looked in their books and nothing.I even went to the dealer and the same thing happened.Go to the junkyard and get one.A rebuilt distributor is about $225-$350 around here. The key part that fits into the cam is supposed to have some play but the shaft is not.hehe I said shaft.Anyway good luck and let me know if u find a rebuild kit.

http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/auto/jsp/mws/prddisplay.jsp?inputstate=5&catcgry1=Accord&catcgry2=1987&catcgry3=4DR+LX&catcgry4=KA5MT&catcgry5=DISTRIBUTOR+%28CARB.%29+%28HITACHI%29

There is what the dealership still stocks.
If that does not work go HERE (http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com) and click on parts on the left.
There are 2 differant dizzys for our cars. Tec and Hitachi, make sure you select the correct one.

Just went to the links---They must be joking on their pricing!!
And to think that I was complaining about $185.00 at NAPA auto with the AAA discount.
Well, It was worth a try,
I may tear into it anyway to see what the bearing/bushings look like.
Maybe I can go to the bearing house and find something that will work.
Thanx for the quick replies.
