idle drop's w/ bass

i had took my pioneer hu and put it in the lx.
i replaced the alt about a week ago and i noticed everytime my system would hit a bass note the idle would drop a little.
the alt is fine it's giving out about 15volts w/o everything on.
but about 13-14volt's w/ everything on.


also my lxi had bose speaker's would it be okay if i used them on the lx?

you can use any speaker in any car.

the reason why your idle drops when your bass hits really has nothing to do with your alternator being good/bad. When the bass hits, your amp draws extra power so the alt has to work harder to put out the juice. This is why people get caps. It helps keep the voltage level constant when the bass hits. Its a little annoying, but thats about it.

okay it 200 watt pioneer system including the "factory amp".
i did'nt noticed this with the old alt.
so tomarrow i guess i'll b putting in those bose. =)
