Chatter Noise when pulling off?

Aiight here's the deal, 87 DX 5spd, 210k, autozone clutch :321:

whenever I'm accelerating in the lower RPMs (1500 - 2100) there's a chatter like noise, kinda like a diesel engine.

-I adjusted my valves, and thats not it.
-It doesn't do it much when the engine is cold, mostly when its been running a minute

anybody know what this could be??

Where's the noise coming from? Engine or tranny?

its gotta be the engine, because i hear it a bit when i'm idling low and i rev in neutral, it does it for an instant when i begin the rev

oh that happen to me. i lost compression i think then it went away. i dont know wtf it was but i took it to a friend of mine he said oh u lost compression i was like what. he like just get it a while to build it back. so i shifted every 2 grand and shit so the morning it was fine. some weired shit .idk u might have the same problem

yeah if i shift at a higher rpm it wont do it.
i dunno what it is. I may take it to my cuz, he works at the honda service dept

Yeah some weird shit. so u might have lost compression. see what he says

I maybe way off but have you checked for any loose exhaust bolts b/c that happend to me when it was just at idle it made that chattering sound. And I found 2 loose bolts and I replaced them and tightend them down with a 500 ft/lb impact :cool2:

And I haven't had any problems since.

look for loose heat sheilds around the cat and exaust mani

that was my problem too, the exhaust was separating.
try looking at the exhaust manafold heat shield too, i took mine's off ;)

My car is making the same noise right now, although my car is an auto. It just started a coupla days ago.

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, it drove me nuts ...... ITS THE FUCKING AUTOZONE CLUTCH im sure .... throw-out bearing is messed up, i changed it with a Clutch Masters and its sweet .. good luck

man believe it or not...
i looked to day and i am missing one of the nuts on the exaust manifold. Damn.
I wonder where i can get another one. I'ma fix that bia i hope thas the problem
