I have an 87 LX. It is carburated. I want to get a litle more performance out of it. I was wondering if cutting off the catalytic converter and just replacing it with straight pipe would help at all? I live in Western Canada so it is legal to drive with no catalytic convertor.

Does anyone know how many catalytic converters the carburated lx's have? I wouldn't have a problem like on newer cars with o2 sensor because the carburated model of the accords has no electronic fuel management. Does this sound like a good idea? Has anyone done this?

what you want is a "test pipe", it's just a normal piece of pipe that bolts into the spot where your cat is now, some of them even look like cats so if you get pulled over you don't get a ticket, the carbed accords have 1 cat i believe, i don't know if you would notice much difference without doint the whole exhaust, ( flipped lid, headers, catback)

hope this helps
