i sure did... i sandblasted it for 40 minutes to get it JUST right.. then it sanded it with 600 grit sandpaper for 3 hours and then 1200 grit wet for 3 hours... it was pretty much chromed... then i painted it with Metalcast paint... it looks fuckin SUPER awesome... pics dont do it justice... i kinda want to do a differnent color tho...

oh ya... and i spent 2 hours polishing the raised lines and letters

well.. its not that great... you can see the black pits that i couldnt sand out.. they are like PERMA there... it looks good from 3 feet away.. but its pitted on the front... im just gonna keep it... its not nice enough to sell...

but i can do some more if you people wanna buy... im thinkin around 55-60 USD...

this one would be VERY nice with solid paint..

i was gonna tape it, but it took like 3 minutes to strip the paint.. the rest was to polish them to a very high shine

Well travis I think its cool you spent all the time on the valve cover but, it's never good to bead blast, sand blast, or just blast with anything our valve covers. They have baffles underneath and the sand or whatever can get trapped in somewhere in there and might not come out until there's some oil splashing around in there and that would be really bad for your motor. So since you already did it I suggest soaking it in water and shake it and hopefully you will be lucky and get it all out. There's really no way to tell if you got it all either.

So just anyone that ever does a valve cover from now on don't have it blasted. Get some paint stripper and a stiff bristled brush or just have a machine shop jet wash it to clean it. It takes paint off just like that.

well mike... im not that dumb... you see.. before i even started stripping the grease and shit off... i duct taped the whole bottom closed, the oil filler and filled the grommit holes with silicone so that NOTHING could get in...

i do have some experience and its not like i just jumped into this without planning

thats the switch for? and I am thinking of doing something like that with my cassette holder...

dXsquared

thats the switch that sends power to the pushbutton switch.. then the push button sends power to a relay that sends power to the starter solinoid... im gonna make it so the car starts either with the key, or without.. but without, you wont be able to steer.. and thats no good...

plus i live in a very small town.. no one will steal my car...

Travis

PS.. i can make those boards... ill sell em for 5 dollars precut... just cut holes for your gauges and switches and hot glue the panel to the cassette holder

nice stuff. heres what i did with my cassette holder thingy. looks cool. i may redo it so the HONDA shines with a light behind it. i should try getting some better pix of that stuff when the interior is done.
