I finally got of my ass and took the orange reflectors out of my turn signals...it looks great, why the hell didn't I do it earlier?

My next project is to clean out the damned garage so I can do some body work and painting!

MODERATOR: I meant to post this in the appearance section, feel free to move it or delete it. Sorry!

can u only do that to the 88 and 89s?

BDaccordguy

yea you can only do that to the 88-89s cuz they are originally clear with just an orange insert around the bulb. You could make clear bumper lights for an 86-87 but you would have to custom make the lens.

no, You would have to replace the front bumper with one from an 88-89 accord for the 88-89 lenses to work.

Love your powdercoated 92-93 GSR rims! Looks great. How much did it cost to powdercoat? I am thinking of getting my 95 GSR rims powdercoated.

Picked the rims up for $125 at a wrecker. Cost about $30 per rim to powdercoat.

Man, is that the regular price for powder coat. Up here, they want $350 to powder coat four rims.

The guy I go to does it out of his house, he's one of those brainiacs that built all his own equipment.

Once you get the cover off you just pull the reflector out, it's not glued in or anything, it helps if you lightly pull the top and bottom of the caseing apart. I put orange bulbs in mine after I pulled out the reflector, I think it's required by law, but I have seen people put in blue bulbs or leave the bulbs white, you might have to check the local laws.

once you've got the orange reflectors out of the housings, you just glue the lens back onto the housing, and you're finished. use waterproof glue or you may blow the bulbs if too much water gets in there during rain

If you have an 86 or 87 your lens is orange and there is no reflector, if this is the case you can replace the lens with some plexiglass and/or some flourescent light glass.

just cut the lens off in the 88-89 ones and pull the orange thing out and silicone it back together... it wont leak and itll hold good too

I have a sub and amp but I haven't installed them yet, all they took were a few CDs, probably just kids. When I went to get it fixed one guy quoted me $240 plus tax but I found a guy who did it for $80 under the table.

Um...it was $80 for the glass AND installation...no taxes. Can't beat that and I didn't have to do the work.
