The other day I was riding around picking up parts for some motorcycles with a friend of mine, when all of the sudden he points to a newer honda civic sporting one of those rediculous giant aluminum spoilers, and says "check out the shopping cart". My reply was "What the hell you talkin bout?" He says " that civic, looks like a freakin shopping cart with that giant f#%k'n fin on it!" So, never-the-less-to-say the cars that I have always refered to as "rice-rockets" are now called "shopping carts". So I was just wondering what everyone else calles them?

i call em shopping cars. I call em that because the wings tend to look like the handles on a shopping cart.

i call them, cars that need to be rear wheel drive to sport a wing. seriously, most wings you see on cars dont even look good! half the time they are just extra weight.

Personally, the car here locally (in Boise ID) that makes me shudder every time I see it, is a 4th gen Accord. They took the origional wing, and jacked it up in the air using 1" galvinized pipe. Makes me wanna puke every time I see it. :barf:

I ususally refer to them as an "aircraft wing" or just plain old "rice wing".

Here in Flagstaff Az, the park benches are usually accompanied by APC stickers all over the place, a Fart Can, and an Automatic Transmission LOL

i don't think it's koo to hate on other people's car "out loud." so what? some guy think it's koo to have a fat ass spoiler, than that's his opinion. i mean...i think it's a waste of money to have one when your car can't even go past 130mph, but i don't yell out stupid shits like that too some guy i don't know. he can easily yell out that your 3geez sux cuz it has a 2.0 with only 98hp or 122 hp when 1.6's can put out...what...160hp? cars are cars i think they all cool. I love the 3geez btw.

Yeah, but when it's an automatic Civic DX or a first gen Neon or (shudder) a Sunfire with his aluminum ironing board mounted on top of the factory spoiler, you have to wonder if the person driving even knows anything about making a car faster. Most of the time, its just a hard-on supplement.

One guy in town had a Neon with an ironing board and huge FF body graphics (the arm and the wing or whatever it was from the movie). Eventually, the interior caught on fire from all the lights he had on his dashboard. He traded it in at the Dodge dealership for an iroc. That's redneck rice.

I consider any FWD with a trunklid and has an aluminum wing higher than 6 inches a "shopping car" and any hatchback with a wing that sticks higher than 6 inches a "trash fin." :D
