OK, I have been working on this a while now. my 89 LX-i seems to studder when taking off from a dead stop. I will put my foot into the throttle, and the car seems to just go "Blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" for 3-5 seconds, and then it takes off like a bat outa hell throwing me back into the seat. This also happens at times when the Tach is at about 1000 - 1500 RPM and I get on it. So far I have replaced the fuel filter, Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air cleaner, and injectors.

Any Ideas? :dunno:

any ecu codes, have you installed headers or any other mods recently

I will have to check the ECU codes, other than that the whole engine bay is totally stock.

sounds like your car is running hella rich. The hesitation is due to that mainly. When was the last time you got urself new O2 sensors? You will notice that ur running rich only in low rpm at high rpms u still have the same condition, but its not noticeable.

Well, cant say that I have ever replaced the O2 sensor. I will try that next as it should be cheap.

its only going to be cheap if you get the generic sensors that you have to splice your old O2 sensor connector to. I just replaced both of mine with the ones with the connector and that ran me almost 80 bucks for both of them. It was a realyy good investment though. Much smoother idle, my idle actually increased from 750 or so to about 1100 (that reminds me I need to bring it back down) Last week I averaged about 32mpg highway at like 90mph.

Have you checked your timing?

Nope, hadn't checked the timing. Probably something else to do.

dont forget to clean your whole fuel line using a good fuel system cleaner and use some gas tank treatment cause they are methanol mostly and tend to clean up the fuel system free of line freezes too.
